Yes and I don't know how I feel about this - I kind of like it because that's the only thing I was missing about AIG while using FSLTL, the ability to set whatever time in Europe and fly when I want with full skies, but on the other hand I really like to have a live traffic, knowing that this is happening in near real time right next to me. The only thing to be hopeful of is that Microsobo gets their stuff together and completely re-writes the AI logic so either BATC or SayIntentions can use that and not having to spend countless development hours to fix what should be working in the base simulator to begin with. They must have tried and failed miserably to implement the live traffic into this thing. I think the issue is the data originating from FR24 and the way they were implementing it. I think I'm going to give them the extra 30 bucks and become a supporter because I absolutely hate not having traffic chatter while using BATC as it kills immersion. Dang it... Did they actually say that? I don't do Discord so I'm not close to what's going on. If in fact they did say that and it isn't related to technical constraints, then it would be nice to have an option of live traffic vs scheduled one. Jacek G. Yes, it was quoted by rutrA last page Quote We are announcing our traffic data source: We will be using a schedule of flights (over 15 million fights!) from Flight Radar 24 from a point of time in the past year. We decided to go with a schedule and not live traffic since so many of our users wanted the ability to set the sim time directly in order to ensure a busy airport. Live traffic has the disadvantage of being subject to whatever flights are currently active - which means if there's no planes taking off or landing at that moment, it can appear there's no traffic. Using a schedule fixes this and we're very happy with the amount of busy airports we've seen from this. More info to come.

I think they might add live traffic later on, when all has stabilized. It's technically the same, whether one is importing past flights or live flights via FR24. Costs might be different though. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

What I don't understand about all these ATC and live AI traffic apps is how they use FR24 data without a commercial license. Or if they do have a commercial license, how do they not pass along the cost to their users? My question excludes freeware which is exempt from licensing, assuming that they don't expose the FR24 data to other commercial apps.

They most certainly have a commercial license with FR24, you can't get historical data otherwise. They just don't pass the costs on to the users (since they do not want subscriptions models). July 1, 20241 yr Another two flights in the books with BATC. I have figured out if I have the radios auto tune the frequency I will always have ATC so (now once I switch over to pick up the ATIS) I lose the center or approach frequency I was on if that frequency does not exist. So far only one airport is giving me issues on landing and that is Las Vegas. Does not matter what Simbrief FP and or the ATIS is. Three flights into Vegas I file my FP I am on the CHOWW2 for RW 26L, COKTL3 for 26L, RNDRZ2 26L, ATIS at the airport is landing RW 26L yet I continue to get the 19R all 3 flights ATIS is pulling up data from MSFS. So I am not sure what is going on this is why it would be great to have an option to request a different runway. Other than that so far so good.
