A little early for wear and tear. about 10 hours of flight Thanks, good to know. Pre-oiling, warmup and mixture/temp awareness on the ground and in all phases of flight pays off, not surprisingly. Of course now that I've said that, something will probably blow up. 😄 "That's what" - She

On an unrelated BS (!) matter, I stopped using the previous models B58/KingAir/Baron has I found for some reason the autopilot ignored my set baro readings and only used the actual current outside pressure. For example, I'm above TRAN ALT (10000 for example) so set 2992 with cruise set for 17k. Aircraft levels at 17300 though. After much messing around I pressed B key out of desperation and BINGO ac now descends to ALT SET of 17k! If I never use STD 2992/1013 then there is no issue but of course I do....especially in Europe with STD being as low as 3000ft sometimes. This issue also means that even if I do not set STD that if the pressure has changed at all since take off the AP will NEVER be able to cruise at set altitude. Only where it READS the current outside pressure reads that altitude at. Very annoying! The current B60 does NOT seem to have that issue BTW. Was wondering if this was an MSFS default bug or just the BS. The AP probably has a baro setting you’re missing. Edited May 14, 20242 yr by ATRguy

This only works if the mouse wheel acts as a button as well of course. It is a bit finniky to setup in the interface but prevents accidental zooming. This is a great idea! Kerry W. The giveaway is that the tool tip is an UP arrow there with no corresponding DOWN arrow. May 14, 20242 yr So if someone is looking for their first 3rd party twin piston, would you guys say Duke or 310R? Pros and cons of both?

The 310 is a bit slower, and is not turbocharged, so you'll fly it mostly between 4000-10000 msl. But it also has the most wear and tear abilities.... the airframe will get dirty as you fly hehe. But instruments wise, it's very basic compared to the duke or 414. The 414 and piston duke are a little more matched in speed. All 3 of those have superb sound set and visuals. The Dukes have the most avionics options. I believe all 3 support TDS/PMS GTN and WT GNS I'd buy them all haha! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 14, 20242 yr About the clickspots, part of the iconology seem to have been inverted. As an example turning a rotary knob clockwise there's the right arrow, if it can't rotate any further there is still the right arrow but the stop sign is on the left which should be on the right. This is somewhat confusing.

The 310 is a great plane but lacks speed as Ryan mentioned. I end up using the Commanche more I love the 414. That one is a tough call. The view is better IMO out of the 414. Sounds almost as good as the Duke. Wear and there will be better with the Duke. I also think the panel easier on the eyes with the Duke. The Duke is new so the latest. Not helping much here except to say you can't go wrong wither way. The 414 should be cheaper by now. The sounds from the Duke Piston is really amazing Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. I will probably end up doing what I always do... procrastinating and then end up just flying one of the excellent single piston planes I have lol.

I prefer the Duke, but a solid plane. The COWS DA 42 is also really fun. Good sounds and flight model, though as a modern plane with modern avionics (and a stick, not a yoke), she's almost too easy to fly and not much going on when in flight. Lately I've been flying her a lot. I also really enjoy the Black Square rework for the King Air 350 (analog gauges). Not a complete overhaul (just systems and flight model I believe - exterior the default MSFS plane), but IMHO solid performance and fun. As I think I've mentioned, love the Duke but the views out the cockpit are not good. I can still land her easily and she's fun to fly, but I value cockpit views a bit. EDIT: Also forgot about the OV-10 Bronco. Unique plane and flight model, and I just can't manage to land her correctly. But some folks love that plane. The BN2 and the Beech 18 (which is very good with Denarq mod). I guess I'm just missing a more modern, twin cruiser.
