May 21, 20242 yr Hello everyone, I've noticed that when I play with the Fenix and exit the flight using simrate x2, then immediately switch to the PMDG 737, the latter glitches and the time stays accelerated. Does anyone have 5 minutes to perform this maneuver and confirm that it's not just my PC that's bugging? Or has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks in advance.
May 21, 20242 yr To be honest if I'm flying one aircraft, then want to change to another I would exit the sim first anyway. Saves a lot of hassle / issues. Standard practice since FSX... G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

Standard practice since FSX... G Yes, it is never a good idea to change from one complex aircraft to another without fully exiting the sim first and restarting. Especially when going from the Fenix to something else, since much of its functionality is contained in an external app which may not fully release its memory objects and connection to the sim without a fresh restart of MSFS. May 22, 20242 yr First problem is not exiting the sim. Developers tell you to close down the sim to not cause conflicts with other addons. For instance if you change from the PMDG 737 to the Fenix it can cause issues with it loading.

May 22, 20242 yr Author Thank you for all your answers, can someone who has both planes try and confirm it to me to validate the Topic? That would be really adorable!!! very cordialy
May 22, 20242 yr You can rest easy, your computer is doing very well. I am brave (...), I did it. And the result was a wonderful CTD, full of joy and happiness. One of those CTDs one can only cherish, you know, the predictable CTD, not the one which catch you by surprise! May 22, 20242 yr Author Oh I see this feeling very well haha 😉 me it makes me move the plane pmdg, fins and wings 😱😂
May 22, 20242 yr I'm so paranoid of CTD's and problems, I go a step further and reboot the whole machine in-between flights with different aircraft. Probably overkill. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

I thought the purpose of using the sim is to be the most realistic as possible and time acceleration is not realistic. No time to fly just do shorter routes. IMO. Edited May 22, 20242 yr by JBDB-MD80

I read on different forums where simmers complain that they can't use 4X, 6X and 8X, with their VA's.. I don't get it.

I don't tend to use it, but I would have to say exactly the same to those that do long routes afk. One is as bad (or good) as the other, yet there are some especially in VA's that seem to have a problem with time acceleration, but none with AFK & pause at TOD...
