Others prefer very long flights between major airports. I don't have patience. The 300 variant also did short flights. I'm seeing 1-2 hour flights on FSDispatch at least, even some less than an hour.
June 6, 20242 yr For our flight sim "children of the magenta", many of whom think they'd make darn good pilots based on they way they can fly and navigate an A320 from A to B, if any of you try flying the B707, be warned, it will be a humbling experience for many of you. Glad to see this iconic airliner added to the line up. It may not be a faithful representation judging by the comments above but I do at least hope it flight characteristics are reasonably well modelled and that it doesn't have any 'upgraded' glass avionics options. Then at least it will have the feel and workload of the era for which it is a famous flyer. Cheers Terry No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower! They mostly do simple piston planes, and even with those they fail to deliver solid product. Artur
June 6, 20242 yr Great, another one to make a "remove default liveries" patch. Hope they make it justice, it's a 707! June 6, 20242 yr What a shame really....the 707 deserves so much better. They must have been the cheapest option with the quickest completion date.
June 6, 20242 yr I don't expect a PMDG quality but unless it costs $50, I probably will buy this one anyway. Just because I like oldies and there are no others options for a 707 now or in a near or distant future. And this 707 will be better than no 707.

Would be very cool to do a Cross The Pond in a 707 with this. But then I've never even done a regular Cross The Pond, and celestial navigation seems like it would require a serious time investment to learn...
June 6, 20242 yr Anyone else completely thrown off by the engines modeled? I know it's a low-res photo from a funny angle, but my gosh! I thought they were JT3C's until i zoomed in and saw the blow-in doors and the sort of thrust reverser bucket things at the back. Then I thought it they must be the Conways, but it's not a -400, it's the -320C. So they MUST be the well know JT3D's, but they absolutely look nothing like that! We'll see when there's more previews I suppose... 😄 Then there's the much bigger matter I'm concerned about, the sounds!!! I really hope they get it right! There are very few (one maybe) 707's still flying so I'm not sure where they would get sound files from but chances are they wont be a 707. Cheers Terry No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. June 6, 20242 yr This is bad news IMO. Other developers will now think twice about spending a lot of time on making a "studylevel" 707.

Cheers Terry AFAIK, the E-3 still uses JT3Ds (i.e. unlike the KC-135, it hasn't been re-engined), and I believe there are a good number still in operation. Of course, getting access to one might be a different matter... So agree it's unfortunately likely the sounds won't be authentic...
June 6, 20242 yr I think there will be a lot of people like me who will not be too bothered if it isn't a perfect 'study level' B707, and will still enjoy it, just like I am enjoying the C-47 right now. Some of us don't have time for perfect 'study level' everything, and for those who expect it, good luck with the wait, as there are just not enough developers out there. Some people even complain about Fenix and PMDG for heavens sake. I will tolerate an imperfect version of an aircraft, in what is (lets face it) an imperfect simulator. For those who can't, I feel sorry for you. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
