I think there will be a lot of people like me who will not be too bothered if it isn't a perfect 'study level' B707, and will still enjoy it, just like I am enjoying the C-47 right now.

Some of us don't have time for perfect 'study level' everything, and for those who expect it, good luck with the wait, as there are just not enough developers out there.
Some people even complain about Fenix and PMDG for heavens sake.

I will tolerate an imperfect version of an aircraft, in what is (lets face it) an imperfect simulator.  For those who can't, I feel sorry for you.

I think it would REALLY help addon aircraft devs and their customers out if there was some kind of uniform 'grading' or labelling of addon ac. People tend to be satisfied if they get what they want/expect , but as we all want expect different things there lies the problem.

External/internal modeling/liveries/system depth could be listed on product page. No shame AT ALL in a basic 'looker' using default cockpits/nav systems if that's what it says on the tin. Likewise, the existence of 'study level' (over used and misleading description imo) addons impresses me personally but please make it clear you'll need the manual and a week to get skilled!

As regards the grading itself I'll leave that for the community to agree on but the Marketplace SHOULD have this info up front for potential purchasers. Too much guessing and speculation around at present. Snobbery too.

Does it feel any different from their DC-3?

From what I can remember (as I have the Duckworks and GotFriends mods installed on the DC-3 now), no not really.  Swing on take-off and landing seems a bit easier to control than the original DC-3.

I was expecting mainly a 'copy-over' from the DC-3 anyway, with a very similar flight model and sounds.  A lot of it looks the same.   It has a nice period co-pilot, and a nice Navy paint job.  Of course, it does have the lead ship and glider tow variants as well.

Not sure if it is a DX12 problem as I have only recently switched, but I have what looks like a misplaced red navigation light which also bleeds through.
I expect there will be a few bugs if it was rushed out for D-Day.

These planes only cost me about £8 in the marketplace with my discount, so I don't expect much for that price.  I also bought it to support the united services of course as currently 100% of funds are going towards that.

You will require a bit patience but for sure you will not be bored if you will use this for navigation:
CelNav for MSFS for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS

If only Amelia Earhart would have had this tool and LilNavMap.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I'm willing to give Aeroplane Heaven the benefit of the doubt here and wait until its released. Maybe they could pull it off and make something half decent? Hopefully they will do a cargo model too for those cargo hops around Africa that the 707 became famous for in its final years.

707-320B 10,700 feet to land

Well... with this developer behind it, I would not be surprised if you could comfortably land on 7500ft runways.

On a positive note, the 707 most likely does not have a supercharger to be s@#%wed up by AH 👍

Anyone else completely thrown off by the engines modeled? I know it's a low-res photo from a funny angle, but my gosh! I thought they were JT3C's until i zoomed in and saw the blow-in doors and the sort of thrust reverser bucket things at the back. Then I thought it they must be the Conways, but it's not a -400, it's the -320C. So they MUST be the well know JT3D's, but they absolutely look nothing like that! We'll see when there's more previews I suppose... 😄

Then there's the much bigger matter I'm concerned about, the sounds!!! I really hope they get it right!

Yeah, the engines had me scratching my head as well. Like you said, the low res picture isn't helping things but I believe that photo is with the engine thrust reversers activated. Considering the flaps appear to be full down this to me feels like the best explanation. Of course they could have just muffed it, too. Haha.

I really hope they get this right. MSFS really needs some good quality classic iron to fly. 707, 727, and 737-100/200 are important aircraft in aviation history and need to be well represented.

Couldn't you just not click the livery?

No, i'm the "i don't want to see clutter" type.

Now this one is likely an instant buy, that adverb addresses the existing AH's portfolio 😄

Aeroplane Heaven can barely make a functional warbird. How are they going to handle a complex, old school 4-engine 3-seat intercontinental jetliner?

Leave Britney Airplane Heaven alone.  Go and make your own B707!

Anyone know if this release is still on schedule? Today is 02 July 2024.
