I haven't noticed a single solitary artefact with my kit: literally zero.

My hunch is that - like so much in life - it works best for the people who need it least: that is, people with kit that already gives "good" performance with decent fps, who can now take it to the next level. If your kit is struggling to give decent fps, then the app will likewise struggle to make good guesses when it interpolates between frames.

I bet you do have artifacts.  I have a i7 13700 and 4080 super.  So yeah my system is fine thanks.  Look a little harder.

Short answer: if you want to avoid screen tearing, then yes. 

BTW: do people have good experience in reducing refreshrate on the monitor for MSFS alone using an MSFS-specific setting in NVCP? Does this work?

Don't think it's possible to set a MSFS-specific refresh rate. 

here with 3080TI laptop card, i have my screen refresh rate locked at 60 , and have 30 FPS locked in NCP for MSFS

I have lossless scaling set to x2 and the frames in game are 60 but i have a lot of sttutering

I'm seeing stutters every few seconds with lossless x3 (120fps) whereas with native FG (40fps) it's smooth. Test situation: holding pattern in the piston Duke at 2000ft AGL over LOWG. 

EDIT: Tried with many different settings (scaling on/off, DXGI/WGC, multi-monitor on/off) - still stutters. RTSS-locked FG-FPS at 40 = silky smooth. So now I'm even more conflicted about this app... 🤷‍♂️

What happens with 2x «only»? I start to conclude that the tool has a huge potential, but it is not yet there... Basically, nVIDIA should be able to achieve the same, no? So maybe we will see a 3x native FG sooner or later now that this tool is such a success...

I only seem to have occasional issues when I move the cursor into the FSHud window. I notice if the window background highlights, then FG stops until I move the cursor back out - but it only does this occasionally. If I use the FSHud keyboard shortcuts I don't have any issues.

Forgot to test that. But then I would've ran into problems with screen tearing again, unless I found some elaborate way of matching fps to refresh rate. 

I'm gonna take a break from this, too much tweaking (even for me!) 🙂 Currently at locked 50fps without the app and back to g-sync. 50fps lets me run slightly crazy TLOD and traffic settings - which was my reason for trying out lossless in the first place. 

I think x3 native FG is not impossible - RTX50 series perhaps?

So? Your monitor for sure supports 100Hz, no? 😉 Or 80Hz, FPS loced to 40, using FG and on top 2x LSFG.

It does, and that's what I'm using right now, with g-sync (bye bye for now lossless)
