A miracle ? LSFG (Lossless Scaling Frame Generation)

Based on that, I can't see a problem using 3X with 165 refresh rate monitor. Might make my 4080 Super work a bit harder but doubt that will be an issue.

Yes it takes my 4090 from c60% use to c96% use.

That's what I like to see: something that actually makes use of all this expensive kit and forces it to work hard 🐝

    I just upgraded my 3080ti to a 40 series for $6.99 lol.

  • Ok @David Roch I really thought this was going to be the latest "double your FPS" scam out there but I am literally in disbelief.  Thank you for bringing this to my attention.  I decided to give it

  • A little offtopic here but this software works wonders in xplane 12 too. From 40fps to 100fps with all settings maxed out at 4k. It's pure magic. I am speechless honestly.

Right now using LS at 60/30 on a 60 Hz monitor my 4080 Super is only at about 55% usage.

You are right - why pay for pricey gear and not enjoy the level of performance it was designed to deliver?

So what are the suggestion and settings for a monitor with a refresh rate of 240. I have noticed that yes its smooth locking frames with this new software to 30 frames..but clicking buttons and switches in the flighdeck or even panning there is this latency lag

VRR users heads up: Seems not to work.

If I understand it well I could set :

- MSFS to 15 fos

- Double it by using FG to 30 fps

- Double it by using LSFG to 60 fps

Correct ?

That’s what I’ve done. Or actually I tripled from 40 to 120 to match my TV’s refresh rate to avoid tearing.

Didn’t you have a 4000 card ?

In my case perhaps locked at 30 in NVCP. Then no FG inside MSFS, but 2x inside LSFG. It would be 60 fps…

MSFS 20fps

4090 FG 40fps (locked with RTSS)

Lossless x3 = 120fps

Yeah, you could try with 60 to match monitor Hz.

Oh wow, mine is working much harder than yours! Maybe because your monitor runs at 60Hz? Perhaps the app respects 60Hz as a "hard" limit and doesn't bother stressing your GPU trying to interpolate beyond that point? My monitor goes up to 144Hz and on my kit I'm often seeing ~70/140 on the app's frame counter. That might explain why my card is sweating more than yours 🥵

Has anyone worked out how to get this playing nicely with FSHud?  Whenever something happens on FSHud, the MSFS window loses focus, and there is stuttering, like it snaps out of FG for a while.  Pretty much unusable (unless I stop using FSHud) .  Run it on another screen?

you can't use this if you use fshud

Enabling “multi-monitor” might work.

So trying to understand how this works. If I want to lock at 48 frames, do I set my monitor refresh rate to 144? That way 48 × 3 =144. Then I'll use X3 on the app?

I have thouroghly tested this App in both MSFS and XP-12 and my decision is that it is usless.

I tried to make a video about all of the artifacts I was seeing but because it is software driven post processing... Screen capture programs won't capture any of the stange afrtifacts.  Not OBS, not Snipping Tool, not NVIDA Experience not Xplane in game video capture.  Nothing will show the effect.

In MSFS, I get some ghosting when panning that is unacceptable.  In both cockpit and outside view. show some severe ghosting around the leading edges of the airplane in all modes TAA, DLSS or otherwise.

In XP12 if I bring the throttle back to idle in prop planes like the cessna 172 or SR22 the taxiway line gets all out of whack and anything in the way of the prop gets smeared, I definitely don't reccomend this for X-Plane or DCS for that matter.

If you know how to accurately capture what is being put on the screen give me a suggestion.  I have tried everything.  The only way I was able to capture the wierd artifacts was filming independent of the computer on my iphone 15 pro max camera. it captured it pretty well.

The frame rate did go up and became smoother but i still got stuttering around new york city so it wasn't any kind of "miracle"

It's cheap but It's worthless in my opinion.

Heres x-plane 12 the prop smears everything.

ill post the msfs artifacts later today.

Oh how infuriating for you!

I haven't noticed a single solitary artefact with my kit: literally zero.

My hunch is that - like so much in life - it works best for the people who need it least: that is, people with kit that already gives "good" performance with decent fps, who can now take it to the next level. If your kit is struggling to give decent fps, then the app will likewise struggle to make good guesses when it interpolates between frames.
