  • Well, just fired up the computer and bought this , and I have to say it's cracking. I've been waiting to try this for a while as I though it would be good, and it's actually better than I expected.

I have it now and I'm inclined to agree. I think this one is a bit special. And yes, you do feel like you are in a real aircraft which is so rare in MSFS. I actually feel excited about firing up MSFS

It's great in 2024. A very overlooked add on in my opinion. Challenging to fly well and stunning modelling, textures and sound.

I think this looks really interesting. Been flying the Bronco a fair bit lately, other than that no experience with military aircraft in MSFS.

Are we talking about real pilot certified for this particular plane or someone who flies C172 ?

I think that's exactly what Carenado meant for the last 20 years.  A team member was a C172 pilot and they put that strapline out on every plane they ever released.

She flies great, looks great and is not too tricky to learn. I haven't even scratched the surface of the 114 page manual, just learned the basics to get her up in the air. Been doing VFR and VOR navigation, have no idea how to operate the GPS yet. Don't have any complaints but would be useful to have an EFB autopilot for longer flights. I think it's worth the price - seems like a very high quality aircraft. Mach loop next!

They said in their forum that they are working on a very basic autopilot to come in an update. Nothing fancy that will follow a route but we should at least see heading hold and altitude hold.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

How will we be notified when there’s an update?

Btw I’m getting used to flying without an autopilot and quite like it. I think it’s the only non-AP equipped aircraft that I own. Takes a bit of practice flying straight and level though. It tends to roll left (due to the P-factor?) and using elevator trim in the sim has never been easy (for any aircraft).

I agree that she flies quite well. Does require some rudder trim changes also, particularly with power changes but I think that is normal for a military trainer. This software is used for part of the familiarization training for USAF primary pilot training. The A version of the T6 is also used for Naval Flight Officer training at VT-10 in Pensacola FL. I sure wish a talented painter would do the typical Orange/White skin which is most often seen on Navy variants! Seems like the Vance AFB paint could be a good starting point by switching out the black lower section for Orange and the decals of course. Caveat is I don’t  know anything about painting FS aircraft. li really like this aircraft and am learning the GPS using the real world KLN-90 Manual.

It does take a of lot of trim adjustments just to fly straight and level and then any manoeuvres and you have to do it all again, just like in real life. I'd feel a bit silly using an autopilot function if it was from the tablet.

There were rumours of an update last week which didn't materialise. This is the one area where Milviz lags behind a lot of other developers - the updates are painfully slow and are only ever beta updates at first and then become official several months later. And you often have to go looking for them.

It could do with a few tweaks I think in how those trim adjustments are translated by your hardware as I'm yet to get that perfect but otherwise, it is an incredible aircraft to fly.

I'm curious are you guys all able to start a flight from a parking spot cold and dark and then taxi and takeoff just fine?  For me everytime I turn off the NWS for the takeoff roll the plane veers off widely to one side and from external view you can see the nose wheel turn to one side when this happens.  This obviously results in going off the runway and crashing.  I can also test this just starting from parking and taxiing around the ramp.  When I use NWS it taxis fine but when I turn off NWS instead of staying somewhat straight it veers off to the side.  This latest version above was supposed to have fixed this according to the guy in the forums even though there is no mention in the patch notes.  For me it's not fixed and actually now if I just leave the NWS on and start to takeoff the aircraft wants to pitch down during takeoff and I can't put enough stick in to rotate and lift off.

If I start from the runway with the engines already running there is no issue and it takes off just fine.  This is only when starting from parking in a cold/dark state.  I've tried it with all other addons disabled too so there is not a mod conflict.  I just can't believe I am the only one having this issue but maybe nobody runs through the startup checklist which I find hard to believe also.  I really wanted to like this plane but as of now I still can't even use it since I bought it.

I'm interested to hear from those that bought this how you're liking it now?  I was interested in it but the early reviews didn't sounds great.

Also wondering it it includes the standard Canadian livery?

I'm over these tandem two seater single engine types personally...we have enough of them in MSFS already.

AzurPoly Socata TB–30 Epsilon

RPSimulations  Embraer EMB 312 Tucano

RPSimulations Tucano - why bother?

AzurPoly Epsilon - relatively obscure piston trainer.

IRIS PC-21 & T-6B/C - pretty nice, especially during the recent 50% off sale.

BlackBirds version, however, is by far the most satisfying/realistic. And it's no wonder when you know its pedigree...

They send emails. I just checked and don't see anything since mid-july.

Same, no email so far. I did see a download link to the update in their discord though.
