Allright, so you're apparently not a fan of FSHud and jump at the dev at any chance you can get. IMO nothing unreasonable has been said. It's you that's being overly dramatic and disrespectful. ATC ad

Haha, I anticipated something like this. Not willing to admit you came across too strong you accuse me of being sensitive. Nice one, and you epitomize the spirit of Avsim and the internet in general t

  • That will be a next step - to take NavData directly from MSFS or alternative data sources by avoid continuous subscriptions. This topic was started with initial preview introduction of version 2.

Since using FSHud, i'm loving it, and those new features, seems quite positive, but I hope it doesn't have a hit on fps (I understand it was mentioned).

The voice, sounded great too.

Keep up the good work

What I understood is that they may have an improved performance balancer. But still it doesn't address the main issue with FSHud: the very high FPS cost for the little AI traffic generated. Let's hope FSHud takes this into account.

In the meantime, I've only done 2 flights with it, and ran back to PF3 because of FPS.

Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

What kind of FPS hit are we talking here? If your base FPS is 60, how much does it cost to run FSHud with traffic?

Let me ask you something:

Let's say you're right and FSHud very highly impacts on FPS.
Then how you can explain the fact all of our videos were been taken on i5 13600KF and you can notice lots of traffic and everything runs smoothly?
Just to make you understand - in order to get better performance, you have to tweak things - version 2 gives you more abilities to tweak amount of processors it can use,

By the end - it is completely different on every setup and some system are very sensitive even on very small amount of CPU usage by another application.
In our discord channel - we mentioned it by asking users who suffer from this problem to cooperate with us more tightly in order to understand the problem and it's causes.
Because even giving ability of controlling CPU doesn't guarantee that FPS will be completely smooth, because some environments are very sensitive even on small CPU usage outside of MSFS.

By the end - traffic requires lots of calculations which needs to be done somewhere.
And in the worst case - you can turn off AI Traffic in FSHud and use default traffic or no AI Traffic at all which brings you the same experience as from our competitors
(with ability to hear good quality voices and talk to ATC).

This looks absolutely superb.  I can't leave FSHud now, with the separation, the way it controls everything around you in a pretty much believable way. Being able to speak to it is the cherry on top, and they are also not asking for any more money.

Yes it impacts FPS. But it does so much work behind the scenes and is so much more in depth than the competition. Where are you going to hear "use minimum approach speed" to ensure separation.  I've found 30 ground and 15 active traffic gives both believable traffic and a rock steady 30FPS wherever I go.

I'm absolutely itching to get stuck into this latest version.

Great news. I like new voices, they feel quite realistic and not overdone (as an italian, when I speak english my accent is 10 times stronger than the one in the video🤣).

Good job fshud guys!

This is looking great!  Excellent job FSHUD Team.  Can't wait for the 2.0 beta for us FSHUD owners ...Well done!

version 2.0 will break all atc programs?

Sorry to say, but slightly embarassing post by a dev, you should know that 90% of the relevant info (resolution, MSFS settings, GPU, FG on or off, DX12 or DX11 and and and) is missing in your statement and on top, «smooth» is entirely subjective. Some call 30FPS smooth, others need 60FPS to be happy. Or in short: your statement is close to be nothing substantial...

Not sure I understand what you wanted to say, but my mention was to this part of @Luis Hernandez:
"...the very high FPS cost for the little AI traffic generated...."
So in our case, dropping FPS from 70 to 50 when sky is full of AI Traffic - definitely not a "very high FPS cost".

Besides - how exactly all of the MSFS settings information (DX12, DX11) related to FSHud?

Seriously? If your baseline FPS is 120, an FPS loss of 30% is less dramatic than with a baseline FPS of 30, thats why... And: you consider a drop from 70 down to 50, which is almost 30%, not a high FPS cost?

ATC addons (in particular involving control of AI traffic) does put a load on the CPU, that's inevitable. Not interested in getting into a back and forth argument with you, just felt that your comments needed a reply.

This was mentioned in my previous post:

So if FPS is so important for you on such level - fly alone or with default traffic and all it's advantages and disadvantages.

Yeah in my opinion this is the most in depth simulation of being in the skies on a given day.  It was incredible, crossing into the border of Bulgaria and Romania, and hearing an Emirates heavy that was actually there in real life.  This combined with FSLTL has given me a 50% increase in enjoyment, and I won't be moving to FS2024 until I can enjoy both these solutions on there.  It's astonishing work for a couple of dozen dollars, and 15, 30 AI aircraft are enough to make the skies around you, and the terminals at all but the biggest airports absolutely teeming with aircraft.  It's an FPS cost, so lower the aircraft displayed.  It's still an astonishingly good add-on.
