X-Aviation down?

Featured Replies

Needed to connect to re-up my license this morning. Didn't work, & got a bit console full of errors.

I tried to get to the x-aviation site, but it's timing out, so I can't reach it.

Any known issues?

TIA

same here, gizmo not connecting ...

Same thing to me last night trying to renew my license of my Saab of Xp11 I had gizmo errors.
After 2 or 3 attempts however it worked.

Now we see how easy it is in today's world, for all those things you paid for and thought you owned, become worthless, because of the internet. Wonder why I prefer disks.

Interestingly for you, all kind of disks can fail, especially if they are old. Nothing without a new backup copy every couple of years. 🙂

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

Backups dont require internet. Interestingly.

Seems the Gizmo thing is still not right and with the LES DC-3 a no go at the moment just crashes my sim. Apart from the internet issues early this week, it is reported that the 12.1.2 update busted the Gizmo.

Anyway decided the LES DC-3 by them is a busted flush - will not start for me now either - weird switch behaviour as well. Ah well gave it a go and now its gone too! To the bin of good intentions.

They have a beta of gizmo for months, they where supposed to change the way it was implemented, still not done hopefully if this is the case they might do something.

Don't write anything off just yet.  We're looking into what's going on.  Either myself, or Ilais will post back here with more information.

I had that too a couple days ago after upgrading to the latest XP12, but I had it as well before.

Actually whenever trying to install and start for the first time the DC-3, XP12 blocks / freezes or CTDs.

My way around that is installing and activating the MU-2 first, and the DC-3 Gizmo "console" works fine after that and the airplane loads.

BTW, Goran, are any updates planned for the DC-3? I'm not too concerned about the graphic glitches like the dimensions and positioning of the cabin windows, but systems wise, are there any plans for further improvement?

I'm not even by far "paint" capable, but have also read that creating liveries for the DC-3 is a true PITA? Will this be worked out in future updates? A friend from this forum ended up pointing me to the excellent AWX DC-3, and offered a really superb TAP paintjob for it too, but I would surely like to have one for the LES DC-3....

I will open another thread about the aircraft and the various versions presently available for Xp12 that I use, because I have some details I would like to debate.

But require a healthy disk. Imagine doing a backup and original disk fail. You will sing an internet hymn. 🙂

Joke aside, nothing, and I mean nothing is secure today. Even major companies that have thousands of servers and backups aren't secure and bullet proof. Remember CrowdStrike drama few days ago?
My only way to backup things is to copy everything important on my external HDD storage, but again, what if it fails? (I'm running to the store to get 2 more). 🙂

There will be a few more updates coming.  No ETA yet, though.

The server was down for only an hour and a half of scheduled maintenance. Some things are a bit blown out of proportion in here.

I don't think you guys are running into Gizmo issues, just this:
