  • I'm all in on day one.

  • Some simmers forgot what the days were like when the development of Microsoft Flight Simulator came to an end and only small improvements remained. Now it's time to support developers to encourage us

Also all in on day one. None of the major bugs/issues w/ MSFS2020 have ever been infuriating to me like they are to some, just minor annoyances. Big picture, I've loved every second of it and I expect

You guys need to stop seeing everything as “gamey1!1!1!” “Minecraft!1!1!1” “Xbox!1!1!1”.

That’s tiresome sometimes.

"sometimes" ??? 🤣

It really is.

Thank God for gamers who are bringing a bit of young blood to this hobby. It's sorely needed.

The amazing thing is that so many fail to see that MSFS has become the 800lb gorilla of flight sim precisely because of the fresh/new blood & "casual" gamers.

And kudos to Jorg & Seb for re-investing so much of the $$ right back into the simulator to make it even more popular.

I would dearly love to know the approximate unique user counts of the other simulators vs MSFS' >15,000,000.

Fishing from my industry experience, I would be honestly surprised if any flight simulator after FSX that isn't MSFS sold mich over 100,000 copies, if any even reached that number.

Save game, should be for Xbox version (if anything)

Well, MSFS is a game, regardless of the platform.

Edit; Made a mistake here. All the quotes below are from Greazer as well

This is not Minecraft!

Thanks, I had noticed that already.

Idea of resuming a flight the next day?  well the weather has changed by then!

Of course the weather would have to be saved as well.

Complex aircraft (systems) could run into issues with Save Game

That is indeed possible, so it has to be done right.

Fine. Have you considered the possibility of not using it?

i am hopeful for msfs2024, but i'm also expecting some very rough edges. msfs2020 has improved quite a bit since launch but i'm also disappointed that Asobo continuously neglected (or nearly so) a litany of major issues in key areas of the sim - many of which were communicated as being worked on years ago (or at the very least, acknowledged) but have not seen improvement to this day.

there's no doubt that it's going to be the new standard, i just hope that there's a little more commitment to improving core sim aspects this time around.

Oh dear, sorry! I quoted from your quote if you understand what I mean. My bad!

AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024

Open Youtube. Put MSFS in search window. Click Filters. Choose "last 24 hours".

When I do that on any day, from 50-100 videos show up! For all games and sims, I'm guessing that MSFS must be number one in daily YT videos posted, by a huge margin.

I am not disappointed that MSFS console users will still have to buy their addons from the marketplace. Those monies will probably extend the number of years that MS keeps the servers in the sky active.

You're using computer software, running on a home computer, for entertainment purposes.

That's literally the definition of a video game.

It's really amazing to me, the mental gymnastics some simmers go through, to convince themselves they aren't like those "gamer" types.  That's not an insult; it's genuinely interesting to me.  I imagine a psychologist could make an interesting study out of it, on the delusion of self-selection or something.
