But sorry you're going waaaaaaaaay OTT with your List above and of all the millions of peole using this Sim I'd wager a bet and say you're alone with your 30+ reinstallations of Windows (which you've failed to counter by the way)!

I never said 30 installations-you did.

The sim's been out for 48 months.  Maybe you know someone who hasn't spent an average of at least 4 hours a month tweaking or troubleshooting since then.

That's 192 hours.

You're entitled to your opinion on most things. Arithmetic isn't one of them.  Arithmetic is settled.

Also all in on day one. None of the major bugs/issues w/ MSFS2020 have ever been infuriating to me like they are to some, just minor annoyances. Big picture, I've loved every second of it and I expect

@MarcG, let me introduce myself. You can now tell you know someone who hasn't spent an average of at least four hours a month tweaking or troubleshooting since then.

But darn, it must be a **** in the *** if the sim gives you this much trouble...

Cheers, Bert

There is never a shortage of people who enjoy pointing out that they have never had the slightest problem with MSFS.

I think they think they're being helpful.

My team supports several thousand desktops, laptops, VMs and servers of all kinds across a bunch of companies.

The number one most frequently encountered Incident root cause is PEBKAC.

What we who aren't having problems are trying to share with you is that the problem is likely NOT the sim, but rather something with your setup.

You may see hundreds of problem reports after each update, but you should remember that there are, literally, MILLIONS of players who don't have problems.

Ie, if only a small subset of users have issues...

Not a knock against you, but a "clue" that the issues you're having are likely unrelated to the sim itself.

Show us a picture of the Hours Played of MSFS please, thanks

4 hours a month tweaking or troubleshooting, your system is corrupt 😆

Really, I'd be interested to know the source of that assertion.

I'm very content to have the community assess whether 4 hours a month seems like a reasonable average or not.

Oh come now. I could call your video gibberish since I'm not the one at the controls. What if you messed with the cfg file! 😱.

Ok let's get serious, here. I am just asking for your opinion on what you saw. We can even assume it was faked. Does what was shown behave in a convincing way to you?

Still waiting 🙂

Hi Welcome I'm one of the million.   To your statement above, it's not reasonable.

I mean I might spend 4 hours in a /year/ and that's only because I get on a fiddle-urge with settings.   7800X3D = no tweaking needed, just start and fly and go.

I have no trouble admitting that I have a great many flight hours in MSFS but that indicates nothing about the hours spent tweaking.

..and your source for the "literally, MILLIONS of players who don't have problems"   or is it the same source as so many "facts" these days--your opinion.

In any event, some arguments reach a point where one or more participants stops arguing for truth and begins arguing for himself.  I fear we may have reached that point several posts ago.

Have it any way you like, my friend.

That must be some sort of setup to require 4+ hours a month of tinkering .. but anyways ...

Looking forward to the new version .. will be purchasing a 2tb NVME in a week or so just to store all MSFS 2024 related items on it! Will eval the performance to decide what the next upgrade steps will be if any is required apart from storage.

Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke + TCA Sidestick + TFRP Rudders

I don’t even remember the last time I’ve spent some time setting things up. Once a year I like to format my pc and reinstall everything. I did that a week after New Year’s Eve, it was probably the last time I’ve done that.

BUT I don’t have a full home cockpit, I use the TCA yoke and throttle, Logitech autopilot and a Thrustmaster rudder pedals. I think people using lost of external avionics are more likely to have issues.

The source? Why, Microsoft, of course.

12 million unique users since launch.

AFAIK they haven't released the number of current/active users, but it's quite reasonable to think theres over a million still using it, no?

As to 4 hours a month, as ive shared, mine is maaaaaaybe 4 minutes a month, or less.

100%

I'm not surprised having read what some flight simmers have done to their own PCs, flight sim installations and add-ons with their tweaks. All in the name of making things run 'faster'/'smoother'/'problem-free' without the knowledge or experience of what it is they have done or properly understanding why.

In theory, MSFS2024 should have fewer issues running on people's PCs, if they have a fast and stable internet connection. The biggest problem will be the game servers, which had another wobble over the weekend.

They didn't say anything about the number of active users, but I would guess around a million (Xbox + PC + Steam).
