FS2024, are you at all bracing for disappointed?

Featured Replies

From what's been shown, I'm curious how many are actually anxious to quickly shell out $120. You know you'll need the Ultimate version or some of the coolest missions won't be available to complete.

Thinking of it differently, what features or expectations must FS2024 contain in order for you to be completely happy about dropping coin and side stepping into a very similar flight sim?

I guess Call of Duty, Madden and Farm Simulator folk perpetually have no regrets about funding evolutionary releases so why should flight sim fans be any different. The only thing that really bugs me is the possible impairment of already purchased 3rd party addons.

Also all in on day one. None of the major bugs/issues w/ MSFS2020 have ever been infuriating to me like they are to some, just minor annoyances. Big picture, I've loved every second of it and I expect the same (and more!) w/ 2024.

Day one for me as well 🙂👍

Looking forward to the release of MSFS 2024, but not looking forward to the full download and install. I already have a fully loaded MSFS 2020, so I might wait for videos and reviews before I have to uninstall msfs 2020 and do a full install of msfs 2024. If my GoFlight controllers don't work, I'll have to pass.

MSFS

Day one. Basic version. Never missed those few planes and airports.

The cost will be nothing compared to the PC, Graphix card, monitor, rudder pedals, throttle quadrant, yoke......I have already invested in over the years.

Day one, deluxe version purchase for sure.

I will wait a week until the dust settles.

Some simmers forgot what the days were like when the development of Microsoft Flight Simulator came to an end and only small improvements remained. Now it's time to support developers to encourage us to improve our hobby. Just saying.

It wont be day one for me, but maybe after first patch.  I fully expect that it will need third party aircraft, ATC, real liveries, ect. to make it work.  I had high hopes for 2020 but they were quickly dashed for the above items.  This time around I am just bracing myself for accepting the needed third party stuff.

Makes me wonder how I'm going to manage this new install. My drives are already pretty full so adding another full install isn't happening. Hopefully there'll be a means of transferring your mountain of aircraft and scenery to the new sim...hopefully.

$120 for a programme that is used a lot and has an expected cycle of four years...hmm...

Doing the math that would give me an expense of $2.50 a month or $0.083 a day. For something I use every day and get a lot of pleasure out of I'd say that's a no-brainer (fully expecting it to be an improvement on 2020).

Not an instant buy (not just MSFS but any software) but eventually, yes, I'm in.

MSFS 1.0 through X were all "evolutionary releases" that were released an average of 2 years apart, so this is nothing new to people who have been in the hobby for a while. Some of those releases should have been a free service pack... others brought huge improvements. I expect 2024 will be in the latter category.

Not day 1 for me. I preordered 2020 and it took years to work out the bugs. I can’t go through that again so will sit back and read the reviews and comments. I’m expecting months to be stable and mostly ‘pretty good’ but in case it’s not, I’ll wait until it is.
