Performance Issues with Fenix 319/321

Featured Replies

I have a pretty good rig.  My specs are below.  I have had smoothness with the Fenix for as long as I can remember.  Ever since I bought the 319 and the 321, I have been getting really bad stutters.  I have never had it like this before.  Is this something that is a known issue, or could this be isolated to me?  THe only other difference that I have made since getting the 319/321 is buying Real Traffic subscription and using it with PSXT.  I used that with the 320 in the past and was fine though so I don't know what would cause this out of nowhere.  I've been able to fly using high/ultra settings and my LOD is 200.  Like I mentioned, in the past I didn't have an issue, but now all of the sudden since getting the new Fenix, I am seeing this.  Any thoughts?  I even went down to 4k liveries

Honestly I do not think it is your rig or the Fenix, I have found the Fenix A320 has been the best performing aircraft for the longest time, ever since he last SU & WU I have seen performance get worse across the board in general on all aircraft. There are more stutters lately than ever before. I even tried the enhanced Bing map mod which has slightly improved things but it is not as good as it was before the last SU. I run pretty much Ultra settings with a TLOD of 400 in the air and 100 on the ground and used to run locked fps of 76 in RTSS with the Fenix and it was butter smooth. The only time I dropped the FPS was at busy airports such as IniBuilds EGLL. Now I am finding myself constantly tweaking the FPS on each flight to get the best performance.

I would hazard a guess that the stuttering many have seen lately is server related, one can only hope in time it sorts itself out although with MSFS 2024 so close I doubt there will be much focus on fixing bugs from MS/ASOBO.

I don't believe its the rig or Fenix I have been getting slight stutters in the Triple/737 and also the Fenix but it does not happen all the time. Watched a friend fly the MD11 he was also recieving stutters. We use Vatsim TLOD is around the 200 mark. This is off a high end system.

I love the Fenix... its fantastic but my pc struggles to cope with it for some reason, both PMDG 737 & 777 are supper smooth and also the fly by wire A320N is super smooth too but the Fenix....oh no...stutter fest...........cant understand it.....my pc isnt that bad....is it??

I had the same issue, the culprit was A320 Immersion from parallel 42, which introduced major pauses and stutters......

Uninstalled it and problem solved. As other said, it is most likely an add on that causes the issue and not Fenix.

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

I am still having terrible stutters with the 319/321.  I haven't flown the 320 since the others were released.  Do you think I should uninstall and install the Fenix?  If so, what is the best way to do that?  Also, in terms of other issues that could be happening outside of Fenix, I currently have the following running when I fly:

Active Sky

Landing Rate Monitor

FSUIPC

FSrealistic

PSXT (I know AI Traffic can be a beast but I never had issues flying into complex airports with lots of traffic before.  I even turned off PSXT to see if no AI would help the sim but it didn't)

The only other thing I can think of is that I am also running Citrix in the background for work but I don't think that is too much of a resource hog on my machine.  Could that be the problem?

Again, I have always been happy with Fenix and my performance in the past.  I have never seen any stutters like this before.  Today trying to land the 321 into PHL was impossible with how bad it was.  I hope someone has some ideas!

have you tried running other aircraft , heavy hitting ones preferably ?

Warthog Stick and TCA Captains throttle ( full pack)  Velocity 1 Rudder Pedals , extreme3D for the Tiller,Streamdeck XL x2 / Streamdeck +/Streamdeck mini because i like pressing buttons

The Fenix A 320 is my best performing airliner over the PMDG 737 and 777. I didn't get the 319 or 321, had no interest in them.

The only other plane I have that might be considered a heavy hitter is the CRJ.  I can try that to see but I don't think it is nearly as complex as the Fenix

That was the case for me since Fenix released.  I never had any significant issues on performance that wasn't fixable.  It has performed beautifully from the start.

The only thing i have done since updating to the 319/321 is start to use PSXT with RealTraffic again (never had issues using that in the past).  And I updated to the latest Nvidia driver (560.94 - but i think I did that update to try to fix the stuttering from the previous).  I haven't installed any new applications or scenery either.  I am on 4k liveries as well

Isn't the obvious approach here to remove the other add-ons, go back to a clean Community folder, and test your performance as you add back the various experience enhancers? Have you tried that yet and if so what did you learn?

Not yet, but i haven't really added anything new since I updated to the 319/321.  I don't know why all of the sudden that would make a difference.  I could be wrong but I was hoping to do that as a last resort.

Do you run a resolution scaling higher than 100%? I don’t know the exact term for the setting but I was having bad performance with the new 319/321 and I found out I was running said setting at 125%. I turned that back to 100% and it helped greatly.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

Did you notice anything different graphically?

they wont.  id be quite happy to wager with anyone whos up for it 10 pounds to a charity of their choice that we will get even more server issues once ms2024 drops.  This is about money nothing else.  They could of fixed the server issues months/years ago by investing in them, but they havnt, they dont want to invest the money in it.

It speaks volumes.  Ms2024 will be no different, youll see

Did a flight from ATL-MYR in the 319 today.  The flight was slightly smoother but I did notice some pretty bad micro stutters on approach then some bigger stutters on final all the way until taxiing to the gate.  I was running all of the same apps mentioned above.  I hope this can get resolved pretty soon.  I went from having a perfect experience to almost making it not flyable.
