Subforum for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024?

Featured Replies

With this forum being overrun with a dozen topics about MSFS2024 isn't it time for a dedicated forum?

😊

I vote Yes

 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2  - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

Mods, please...

The FS2020 forum is becoming inundated with people starting new posts to ask questions, then asking the same questions in other threads all the while there is a 20+ page thread with Q&A.

It's like some questions are "too important" to be part of the larger thread so they need their own special threads LOL...

I absolutely vote YES.

Have a Wonderful Day

Yes please new simulator new forum

Agreed

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Yeah, now that the information flow is gonna be heavy and continuous, it's absolutely time to fire up that 2024 subforum.

[MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]

Agreed. Actually a bit surprised it is not here yet, guess it won't be long before we get a separate forum.

Cheers, Bert

According to what we've seen from Asobo, there's supposed to be a great deal of commonality between MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, so many threads, old and new, would/will apply to both sims.  The reason we opted against separate forums for P3D versions 3, then 4, then 5, and then 6 also applies here:  we want to avoid the proliferation of forums, unnecessary fragmentation, and compartmentalization of information that applies to multiple platforms.

We do have tagging, where threads that apply to a specific sim can be tagged (usually not necessary if the title is appropriately constructed).

Apart from the proliferation of threads about a different simulator than the forum heading, there is a thread like this:

The sentiment seems to be that many people cannot WAIT to delete MS2020 off their systems and move over to the new sim even before it is released. Yes, they cannot wait to delete the sim that is the title of the forum they are posting in.

I would like to publicly cast my vote FOR a separate forum before users of the original MSFS have no place left to go.

The P3d/FSX forums may be ghost towns now but at least we are ghosts with the same point of view. I do not believe I am the only simmer who has zero interest in what has been promised with 2024 (at least for another year or so) . I now have FSX/P3d/MSFS 2020 all on the same machine working perfectly , with everything I want in a sim split between them.

I have an FSX exclusive forum, a P3d exclusive forum, but no MSFS 2020 exclusive forum anymore.

This forum was my home page until a month ago then I shifted it up a level. The posts I enjoyed reading discussing 2020 have just been swamped for months. When 2024 is out every (other if lucky) thread that asks a question about MSFS 2020 will have a 2024 user dropping in and asking:

"Why are you still flying that legacy sim? 2024 is much better" or "Why don't you upgrade?  No-one cares about dinosaur sims".

I understand Bobs reasons stated above, but I believe we are living in rapidly changing times and the user base is simply less tolerant of different (older) opinions than 5 years ago.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in "2024", but the truth is that I can't see myself migrating next year. So I'm in the same boat...

At the moment I believe we have 2 MSFS (Asobe) forums. This one and Tips & Tricks.

I would love to see the top forum being Microsoft Flight Simulator (Asobe) as the top forum and multiple sub forums to cater for the huge influx of new interest the sim will get in the coming 6 months such as:

Microsoft Flight Simulator (Asobe/2020/2024)

  • General Discussion
  • PC Hardware/Controllers
  • Tips & Tricks
  • Add-on Aircraft
  • Add-On Scenery
  • Add-On Utilites/Misc
  • MSFS 2020 (Legacy) Chat

not an easy job for sure but it's going to be real hard to find what you are looking for once this behemoth is released!

It is WAAYYYYY easier to organize your new empty filing cabinet than to wait until the files are overflowing :D

There are ton of differences between sims if you watch the presentations from the last two FSExpos and all the new info that has come out since the 19th.

Indeed, I mean that's the WHOLE selling point right or why 'upgrade' in the first place? The upgrade word itself is key. If it WAS an upgrade you could install OVER your current sim. It's a new sim NOT an upgrade though inheriting some technologies from its predecessor.

It's more of a change than Windows 10 to 11 for example. You CAN install W11 over W10 but you can't install MSFS 2024 over 2020.

Tags ONLY work if you are searching for an answer instead of just browsing. Most posters don't even use tags because there's no need when you already in a forum exclusive to the sim you use.
