You can recreate it by starting a flight with local time in the morning then changing sim/time/zulu_time_sec to make it nighttime. It will revert to black if you use the time commands. Laminar would like weather details when that happens to make sense of it. Ive yet to see that anywhere. No point in complaining is there anymore than.

A Beta release is BY DEFINITION intended to expose bugs, so that they can be reported. If you have no intention of doing that PLEASE DO NOT USE A BETA VERSION! (after having participated in various flightsim betas ever since FS4) the cloud issues have been there in various incarnations since x-plane 12.0 and in all "final" non-betas as well. I get it they prefer to implement new ship traffic and what not. and that's all nice but just not my main priorities nor what I expected from a "flight" simulator. they just hired 2 full-time beta testers. they get paid for testing and reporting, I don't. You keep posting the same screenshots with the same clouds, and people here are patient enough to help you with suggestions every time you post them, with comments such as sending in a bug report, and you keep snapping at them. Every time you post these images, you say the same thing. "I've had enough of XP12". You've had enough since it was released, and you're still here complaining about the same thing, over and over again. What do you hope to gain from posting these images, that no one else seems to be able to remotely reproduce, if you keep barking at people who are offering suggestions? Are you here just to whine?? I only use real weather and can confirm that in certain low overcast senarios this is what I occasionally will see. I thought that this was part of the cloud "work in progress". I will screenshot and bug report next time I encounter this.
September 27, 20241 yr Author Hi, I see the crazy looking clouds (at times) as well, but it's still beta and I know they are aware of the problem. Same holds true for networks, something I've been complaining about for "YEARS", prior to XP12 as a matter of fact. So I get the point that I've had enough of (what seems to be a waste of time) reporting bugs when one doesn't see anything being done in a timely fashion. Sorry but Networking, clouds fixes need to take priority over adding new stuff! It reverted to 'black' as I was flying around the traffic pattern 🫤 That bug has been around for a longtime then, because the moonlight is also lighting the inside of the cockpit, like there is some kind of dome light on. The only way to turn off the moon-dome-light off is to advance the time slider, but then the scenery reverts to 'black' again. I added some clouds to the mix to see what effect that would have. And of course, it started to rain. The Star Trek Warp Speed Rain effect started to pulsate with airplane strobe. Man, what a bad trip, I felt like I was high at a club somewhere. Wait for a fix. 6 hours ago, turbomax said: the typical Goran reply. We’ve all become accustomed to your posts in here. It’s at the point where when your name pops up, it’s going to be about clouds. That’s far more typical. Like everyone else has said, submit a bug report. If you have, wait for a fix. Judging by your post history, you have another flight sim, which appears to be flawless, again, based on your post history, that is more than sufficiently filling up your time. What are the cloud settings set at? Max/Min? ANYTHING that helps LR reproduce these results would be helpful in getting this fixed. Otherwise, you aren't really helping, you are just venting. That's fine too, but I hope you realize that submitting a bug report ought to be more detailed than just submitting a screenshot. Put yourself in their shoes! I fly XP12 60% of the time and MSFS about 40% of the time, and I have never seen clouds such as the ones in your screenshots. My clouds are always either Medium or High and I always use Live weather.

I have no problem with people ranting once or twice. But it's now at the point where almost all of his posts are complaints about the clouds. Someone posts something about X-Plane 12 looking fantastic, there's turbomax, posting screenshots of his clouds that are at a specific time, under specific conditions, pointing out how Laminar can't even get clouds right.
