A lot of modern planes are too perfect and well behaved for me. The ones from an older generation are more flawed, inadequate, and attractive.

 

 

Frankly, the super-chick characters who are pretty, intelligent, fit, and can whip 3 guys' as**s is getting really old.  My wife thinks it's silly, too.  Don't get me wrong, women are just as capable as men, but al lot of this stuff is way over the top.

I think a lot of the Hollywood writers and producers have some weird fetish with these kinds of super women, hence all the movies with these types of characters.

In fact, there's a lot of really weird stuff that's been coming out of Hollywood for years now.  Unfortunately, children are easily influenced by this word not allowed. 

Unfortunately, many around the world have a vision of the USA that is heavily influenced by Hollywood productions, whereas the reality is quite different.

Linda Carter was my Wonder Woman, Lindsay Wagner was my Bionic Woman, and nothing said role model better then Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, the neurotic chain smoking... (i'll just leave it there), also honourable mention to Karen Allen as Marion in Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. These were the woman of my youth 🥰

They all lookin' fer the 21st Century version of "Ripley" from the Alien Franchise.

There probably aren't a lot of female flight simmers.  There are some (Hi Sue! 😄 ). 

Unlike the Sims 2 BBS community that was about 70% female.  Some played the game, some never played at all, just made  clothes and other objects for the game or designed and built houses.  The Sims 2 BBS was a LOT friendlier than Avsim.

The original post was about Mary Sue characters, usually described as idealized versions of the author of the stories who could do no wrong and could do everything better than anyone else.  Matthew Kane's list were strong female characters who were NOT Mary Sues.  Ripley was not a Mary Sue.

Not a lot of females playing first person shooters or wargames, but they do exist.  In the Napoleonics wargame community the best cavalry commander I ever saw was female.

My very first commercial aircraft that I flew on!  I was 18 and flew on a PSA Grinning bird from KSFO to KLAX.

BTW, look up Alexander the Great.  He wasn't female, but he was in the 2% if you know what I mean.  It just goes to show that gender and sexual orientation don't mean anything when it comes to talent and capability.
