October 17, 20241 yr So I currently have a Saitek Multi Panel unit and have been using Spad.Next snippets that others create to get it working. I'm finding it more and more difficult to get it to work properly with newer aircraft (I fly mostly commercial payware). Seems like you have to be a fairly serious programmer to customize Spad, and I'd rather spend my time flying than trying to figure out LVARS and BVARS. (Btw, tried AAO's and that didn't work with the Multi Panel either). Thinking of investing in a WinWing FCU and leveraging Mobiflight and flightsim.to profiles. While not completely plug and play, from what I've read it seems like a much easier solution to implement. Would like to hear from others that are using WinWing and what your experience is. Is it a better alternative or would I just be trading one headache for another? Thanks for the feedback!
October 17, 20241 yr Just purchased Winwing FCU about two weeks ago. After I realized it’s included software was airbus only I gave mobiflight a try and I’ve not looked back. Like you I have little skills to program these matters so automation/scripting is my preferred course to take. I don’t regret getting my Winwing and mobiflight makes it all the better. I had about a 60 day wait from preorder to payment and delivery so be prepared for that. You don’t pay until they are about to ship so your money won’t be tied up at least. -B
October 17, 20241 yr Mobiflight with the WinWing is a breeze. Download the profiles from flightsim.to, open them up and hit run. Works well with the Fenix, 737, but on the 777, it can’t show the vertical speed. I find Mobi a LOT easier than Spad

October 17, 20241 yr I am considering buying this also with the EFIS Panel. What do you think about the quality? Will this built last for a long time or is it made of cheap components? Is there any information on when the glare wing will be available and how much it will cost? Is there a list of all supported aircraft?

Is there a list of all supported aircraft? It's very well made. Feels sturdy and survived a trip in my carryon from Vegas. I bought the floor model from expo. Out of the box, it at least works with all the A320s out there: the Fenix, FBW, and Ini a20n. There are a ton of mobilfght profiles on .to. I will admit to not liking MB as much as Spad, mainly around the lack of a profile autoswap like Spad has. However, the Mobiflight profiles do take advantage of the displays, which Spad cannot. Spad will adjust the altitude, but not display it. That said, I don't really set up anything in Spad or MB and just use other folks work.

I need to check. cannot remember the exact steps TBO since I followed one of the many guides but there is one option in the settings to trigger "run" and you need to links the profile to the current airframe by clicking on the airframe name in the bottom status line and then select "link current config" (autoload is I believe set by default). October 18, 20241 yr Dont know how much help this is but I have the WinWing Orion 2 Throttle It is absolutely amazing... I kinda wish I didn't skimp out and forgo the detents, but I still love it so much. The build quality is amazing, and all the insane amount of options with sliders and dials, toggles, it's great for MSFS, DCS, and space sims. (I do Star Citizen, DCS, and this) I combined it with the VKB Gladiator (Space Edition) stick. (I know it's kinda inexpensive, but I couldn't be happier with the pairing) I think a great throttle with all the bells and whistles with a good stick is where it's at. You can sim everything and it feels great.

It actually has the same amount of optical sensors as the real one and therefore manipulating the dials is true to the real world counterpart. The WinWing FCU does not have this. It's just that the MiniFCU is not to size but instead shrunk to 80%. And they continuously seem to underestimate demand, as it regularly sells out and then you have to wait months until they produce enough new ones for it to be in stock again. October 18, 20241 yr I have the WinWIng FCU and the EFIS ordered. The FCU is in a absolute good quality, however can't say how long it lasts over the years, of course. Don't know about the minFCU, but from the facts I can compare: WinWing: Fullsize has desktop mount which is inclined Knobs and switches feel 100% accurate and precise costs 140$, available miniFCU: reduced size no desktop mounts costs over 250$, not available currently I use MobiFlight for my WinWing displays (as AAO is not able unfortunately). Many profiles are availabe at flightsim.to, but it is not too complicated to make new ones. I tried also the WinWing software which is plug and play for all Airbusses out there. With Mobiflight you can use the FCU also for Boeings, G1000, Standard AP etc. With MobiFlight and AAO combination (which runs seamlessly) everything is possible!
