Recommendation single engine turbo prop

Featured Replies

I was just posting in the Majestic Dash 8 thread when I realised that I haven't a single engine turbo prop.

Who can give me a recommendation for this type of AC?

Thank you

I'd say Pilatus PC-12 or Cessna C208. Carenado has both.

I never liked the Malibus (PA46 and PA46T) from Carenado really. But I like flying the other two.

FS Reborn 500 is a real beauty and well backed up by its developer - and is OK for 2024,

My vote is for the C208, because I don't have the other one. There's also the Kodiak from Lionheart, but it's the same version used in FS9, so disregard it (although their support is good).

This is the P3D forum. Unlike MSFS, there's no default single turboprop available (AFAIK).

Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

The Milviz Pilatus PC-6 Porter and DHC-3T Turbo Otter come to mind...they were payware and then released as freeware when Milviz (now Blackbox Blackbird) pivoted from P3D to MSFS.

For PC12, make sure you got the fantastic community mod here.

Whoops - how did I get stuck in a P3D forum - must be old followings ?

These planes can be obtained here if anyone is interested.

To activate the Pilatus PC-6 Porter you will need a key, you can see it if you hover over the image:

Thank you all for the recommendations. I will compare them and make my choice next week. One more question. Do they all work well in v5.4? That's the main version I use. But I also have v4 and v6.

Yes, I have the PC-6, DHC3T, PC-12, C208 and they all run well in P3D5.4 and P3D5.3.

P.S. The DHC3T is pretty difficult to fly because of the engine failures, they programmed. So if you want to fly without hassle, take the others. So for free, you can go straight forward to the PC-6.

I forgot about these birds! The old Milviz is a very good source of GA aircraft.

Why talk about the confusing name Blackbird. The P3D products were Milviz, which everyone here knows. 😀

Iris Sims has their ESP versions of T-6 II and PC-21 available for free.

My favorite fast GA addon for P3D is the A2A Civilian Mustang. 😎
