So far, I hate it. Been flying this aircraft for a couple of years, Now you can't even taxi it using the rudder only, if you want to make a turn. Back to the 737.

  • So some are complaining to make it less realistic... jeez O, You couldn't make it up lol.

  • Taxiing doesn't feel any different to me. You might have to change a setting somewhere like others have suggested.

Hi there,

Can I ask, what A320 are you referring to (Fenix/FBW/Default V2)?

Is it that your assigned tiller is no longer responding?

Fenix, and I never used the tiller. I always used Rudder steering like I do on Pmdg 737 , 777, and used to on the Fenix A 320 until this morning.

Hey Bob,

are you sure there isn’t a setting to turn the tiller off and just use the rudder instead?
It could be in the MCDU as apposed to the EFB.

Im nearly sure there is a setting!

Anthony Milner

There is no setting. The add-on detects there is a tiller axis when you first move it. Until then, you have steering with the rudder.

cheers,
NiIs U.

Bob, what's your sense of performance (in particular microstutters) in the Fenix now?  FBW320neo is fine for frame rate but I get lots of microstutters whereas in the 737 I get almost none.

I can remember months ago when people complained about t he steering in the PMDG 737. This  morning I would have needed an entire airport to make a U turn.

I guess something is wrong. You are the first one I see reporting it. Maybe ask in discord or their support. This should not be a reason to put the Fenix aside.

cheers,
NiIs U.

That means the rudder and not the tiller is in use, with it's 5° each side limit deflection on ground at taxi speeds...

Might be something misconfigured I

n your MCDU controller settings interface?

"Unfortunately it has been made more realistic, if that is unacceptable to you I can look at an option with a flip between realistic and "sim" for the tiller map.

"got a bunch of xbox controller users that want it back too."

I expect we will see another thread saying I hate the PMDG back to the Fenix soon.

FPS  in VC seem to be a a bit lower than before. No stutters however.

Well it turns out that they removed the setting for rudder steering on the ground. Some on Discord are complaining and want it set back to what it was before update.

It was pointed out on Discord, that there is a click spot under the tray table, you should use that to return to the rudder pedals also controlling the nosewheel steering. I clicked that, and nopw the ground steering is back to pre update, and working great. 😃

My reaction was the exact opposite: with an axis dedicated to the steering tiller, it is AT LAST possible to keep the thing going in a straight line on the ground! 🙂

I think the main problem with Fenix is a more "realistic" simulation that more expensive hardware is required than just the  average normal user (like me) have to make it enjoyable, simply many will struggle even V1sim said it. They use 1000$+ controllers to tweak their FM, not good for the average user. Is it good or bad?
