November 15, 20241 yr When I install MSFS 2024 on my computer on Tuesday, will I have to physically add my add on's (I've got a bunch of them) or will it maybe recognize the community folder on MSFS 2020. I don't want to uninstall 2020 yet till 2024 is working smoothly. Thanks guys! John Snyder Jr
November 15, 20241 yr They have said 2024 will have its own Community folder, separate from 2020's Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
November 16, 20241 yr Will we need new or separate Steam/Microsoft accounts? Is having separate accounts for each version allowed in Steam or Microsoft/XBox?

November 16, 20241 yr Honestly I would do a clean install and explore default 2024 before adding anything. And then ONLY addons that are approved by the dev for compatibility mode. We won't see any 3rd party native 2024 addons at start anyway. If you just copy over your community folder that's def the way to get an unpleasant and disastrous start into 2024 😉 Cheers T.
November 16, 20241 yr Will my world and city updates be downloaded or are they be addressed from the cloud? Michael Michael Thesen MSFS, HP Reverb G2, Gigabyte B760 32Gb, Samsung 970 EVO, Geforce RTX 4070-TI, Win11, i7-14700KF, Thrustmaster T16000M, Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals

Michael MSFS2020 = downloaded MSFS24 = Cloud (I believe there may be an option to download as well), bearing in mind MSFS24 is new so there are no World or City updates for it yet as everything will be in the game from day one. November 16, 20241 yr Think of it as a brand new sim/game as that it is when installed. It will have it's own separate installation area. You already paid for it and there's a good reason as to wait until MSFS2024 is smooth and stable, maybe after two/three sim updates. Remember that if you use the Addon Linker, you can have a single repository of addons for both 2020 and 2024, each pointing to different community folders. I also expect a good degree of compatibility between 2020 and 2024, which would also give us a good argument to keep all addons stored in the same place. Hmm...how do you get it to point to multiple community folders?
