November 21, 20241 yr Oh my... even though I didn't qualify for a refund because of Steam's 2 hour playtime rule (I 'played' the game over 7 hours) I got a refund for the Premium Deluxe edition...! All 140 euro's of it! Clearly Steam is VERY aware of the problems MSFS2024 is having and is way more easy with refunding than usual. You could say this is really bad news for MS Asobo... Anyway, I am happy with the refund. I may buy MSFS2024 again when the inital problems are solved and it'll be the Standard edition this time for sure... I totally lost my excitement for MSFS2024 and Standard will do fine. In time.

And probably within weeks already! I only asked for a refund because I found out MSFS2024 isn't worth the extra money for me (Premium Deluxe). I got carried away on the hype. The Standard Edition will suffice in the (near) future. I am curious though to see what this false start will do to the franchise... If even Steam refunds this easily you start to fear for the future.

November 21, 20241 yr I got a refund myself, didn't realize it was going to be 100% streaming! Don't want my flight sim experience to be determined by server load! Your experience leads us all to believe that Microsoft is having problems? Sounds like unsubstantiated nonsense! But actually why is it bad you got a refund??? Your title of the post is seriously misleading! Edited November 21, 20241 yr by tpete61

Unsurprisingly, given the day 1 server overload issues that happened. It is what it is, they'll move on and build this out into a great sim just like they did 2020. If anything, I feel for Asobo given the immovable release date they were given by MS, as devs and creators they surely would have wanted more time to polish before release. I am sure Jorg would've wanted more time too (despite some around where who have a weird thing against him), but the corporate overlords at MS must have set the stake in the ground for a Nov 20th release. As a consumer however I am glad they released it earlier since I get to keep using 2020 as my stable sim platform, while enjoying 2024 and its new features. I was gonna hold off for a bit more, but hearing all the rave reviews of the new stuff (when the sim works), especially re: flight dynamics and ground handling, I'll jump in very soon me thinks.
