November 25, 20241 yr I am pretty happy with the graphics now in many areas I fly. The clouds are vastly improved. Also, W and NW of Denver is way higher resolution than it used to be. Denver always looked ok around the immediate area, but now even in mountains far west of there it looks much better. New Clouds in FS 2024 Not sure I agree with that. https://photos.app.goo.gl/dMPh6Gqf9xxbiJF96 That link shows some images of volcanic ash with real clouds behind. If the link doesn't work (it often doesn't) then please just ignore this post. Cheers Terry Edited November 25, 20241 yr by Lord Farringdon No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. February 23, 20251 yr 20 24 High settings at Simaddons CYRT Rankin. 24 using more resources and looking less detailed here.
February 23, 20251 yr do a comparison at an airport with default runway textures. Maybe addon maker didn't port theirs's correctly to 2024, looks like the detail map is missing completely. also turn your taxi light on so you have the same lighting conditions. I know I'm in a minority here but could I go back to pre SU5 in 2020 I'd gladly go there over what I see now in 2024. Clouds now to me look even thinner then they did in 2020 and my guess is that there is actually less processing demand to create 2024 clouds. I do see some nicer high clouds and 'weather' per se referred to as cirrus that look plausible from a distance for sure but the above post shows just how BLURRY clouds are in 2024 often. I mean, you think this, looks good? To me it looks like 480p resolution! Plus, I now have artifacts in 2024 associated with DLSS4 that do not happen in 2020. Meanwhile, pre SU5 I took this shot near my home one day near Denver with squalls in the distance And while the lighting in 2024 everyone sees as improved, and I appreciate why since there is now something beyond red sunsets, but I find 2020's best sunrise/sets pretty dang lovely, like this one from way back: Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. If you have Ultra set for your clouds, I think you must have an add-on that is causing problems. The default clouds shouldn't look blurry at Ultra. But if you have some graphical add-on that is interfering, such as some graphics sharpener, or whatever, I can see how you are not getting what other people are getting. I saw earlier photos of your clouds (not in this last post, but in your older posts), that I have never seen before in MSFS 2024, not when I use it, and not on other people's live streams of MSFS 2024 either. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Sharpening algorithms used in 2024 only cause a manifestation of the new voxel grid architecture such that you can start to see it, and that only when I use DLSS4 + DLAA, but even that now is vastly diminished to the point of being a non-issue. I have no 'graphical addons' and a lot of the time clouds in 2024 are fine, but def not always, at all. For example, this post everyone here says they never see, does not change when the 3 sharpening algorithms I used are all turned OFF. This was in civil twilight, looking downward, and I've seen this more than once--little cotton balls abound...
