Even worse, the more I look at it the more I suspect the creator of the video has the sims reversed; the whole feel, variety of trees and hue makes me think what he states is MSFS 2020 is actually 2024 and vice versa: 'MSFS 2024' looks way to blue and the huge number and size of trees in the urban area looks exactly like MSFS 2020 🤔 No matter what, I don't look at these kind of videos anymore. They're mostly clickbate with the intention to misinform (there are exceptions of course). Wow. Did you just question the integrity of the OP because it disagrees with your personal narrative? You essentially called him a confused liar, producing clickbait. You should apologize to him.

As far as the Youtuber is concerned, I didn't use the word 'confused' and I didn't use the word 'liar'. Nowhere have I said there is an intentional mix up, if at all. I expressed a suspicion because when I look at the video there definitely seems something strange to me. His MSFS doesn't look like default at all. If he does a comparison of a modded MSFS 2020 versus a default 2024 without mentioning this that's misinforming the viewer as far as I'm concerned. I see no reason to apologize, unless proven wrong. That amount of stuttering is already a reason to close it and stop playing. Yes you are correct... Hate stuttering... Seems we start all over again with MSFS2024... And it is still vanilla. However, the MSFS2020 version is modded IMO. The trees are much smaller than in the MSFS2024 version. As to what's more accurate: when I look at the Google Maps of Sydney of the same location, there's lots of trees which are higher than the buildings so while MSFS2024 might have overdone it a bit, it seems closer to reality than MSFS2020. Pretty small of a sample to mean much of anything, plus nothing in it showcases changes in cloud/lighting depiction. 4000x increase in polygon density does translate to superior texture and mesh resolution. Things like trees being too tall or what have you is kind of hard to say if you don't really know what specific trees are there. To make my point here is a photo of my former house location in Nor California post largest wildfire in California history in 2018. The trees are way over the top of our house of course as they were 60' tall oaks and ponderosa pines to 100' or more, and the fire took out 12 big trees, and a few remain: Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. November 23, 20241 yr Tree height does seem to be regional. The trees next to my house appear to be the correct height in the sim. Now I agree that there are way too many trees in some places. Edited November 23, 20241 yr by Tuskin38
November 23, 20241 yr In the videos, 2024 looks nicer. BTW, he obviously isn't using local time and date but has reset to spring (2020 is always spring except for some color filters). 2024 is not a giant upgrade visually. But IMO, a nice improvement. Especially when I drag the slider to change weather in flight. The clouds and terrain can begin to resemble a Constable or Turner landscape painting from the Victorian age. November 23, 20241 yr Is it just me or the overall ground textures quality are lower than MSFS2020? As well as the photogrammetry? To my eyes it look's worse than MSFS2020. Also not too sure if Anisotropic Filtering is working. Can't see a difference between Off and 16x. Also tried to Force it at 16x through Nvidia CP without any success. Here's some pics I took on my last flight which was an area with photogrammetry. Everything is set at Ultra on a 4090. on a 1Gbit connection 1. Beautiful Bridge 2. Seems photogammetry isn't fully loaded in isn't it? 3. Runway has really low resolution and jagged edges. Maybe they're lowering the quality to give them some breathing room on their servers. But would be nice if they actually acknowledge that. Really hope it's not going to stay like that for a while... Edited November 23, 20241 yr by DuckZilla85 Real Life Flight Sim Pilot
