PC-12/PC-24 NGX - Startup?

Featured Replies

In the PC-24 NGX various switches don't seem to be working at all.

And I can't get the PC-12 NGX to start up at all.

Anyone had any luck getting these two planes to start from cold and dark?

Known issues.  The premium planes everyone was hoping for a disaster right now.  If you start on the runway the systems work for the most part...but the caution lights are always on and the gear won't retract lol.

Some part of me thought that WT was helping carenado make this...I thought it would be similar to the superb Longitude (now has a cabin!).  But it's a major fail right now.

Yeah, I explicitly bought the Premium Deluxe version for the PC-24 NGX.

The PC12 starts for me and flies great (it idles way to fast though--you have to ride the brakes), but yeah, the 24 is borked altogether.

Just tried the PC-24. I spent millions of dollars for it and it doesn't work? Did Pilatus really make this plane, or some adolescent? 🤔

I just hopped into the PC12 this afternoon the first time. Was pretty dissappointed at the lack of system depth. You can't even access the setup page of the avionics.

That was the moment when I dropped it and decided to wait until either Working Title or someone else does their magic with that.

Welcome to turbo prop life!

You'll need to adjust prop rather than ride brakes.

They included the Carenado PC12, not the SimWorks version which is far better.

Just discovered the Condition levers do not work in the Cessna 408 Courier do not work with my Bravo throttle profile. Kinda aggravating when some of the Asobo planes are just not ready yet. (e.g. PC24)

this sim is woefully short of being release quality in so many ways

I thought the avionics were made by Working Title? I guess not. Neither plane is useable, unless you start on the runway - like in FS98.

Yes, they are made by WT, and you can start the engine from cold and dark.  I think the sounds are just missing so it doesn't seem like it's working.

I was pleasantly surprised by the PC12, I started thinking I'd just load in and take a look at it. BTW, I've really come to like the initial walk-around in 2024 if for no other reason than it gives you a better sense of proportion, you feel the real size of your plane 🙂 Anyway, once I removed all the external covers and got in the cockpit it didn't take me long to have an engine start, did the person having the issue perhaps not remove all external items?

It's taken me a few trial flights to figure things out, but finally I did a short flight KHIO-KEUG ( I live nearby ), and everything actually worked, altitude capture, top of descent calculation, descent automatic when it should've, and a controlled RNAV into 16R. It's functional!  Course I'm sure there are issues I may not have hit, but I really like this plane, the avionics are kinda weird, but heck, a get SO sick of the G1000 this is a breath of fresh air 🙂

I'm going to be flying this some more!

Starts fine for me, and flying it also seems mostly functional. But cant get my head around the Honeywell Primus Apex System. Its very weird, or rather I suspect that Carenado went very light onto its functionality.  Also very different from a Garmin.  Definitely need to use beta range for taxiing otherwise its a rocket on the taxiway. Dont use brakes. I'm sure in reality you would wear them out pretty quick with the idle power it has.   Apex

Tha avionics is actually not bad at all, being made by Working Title but yes it is a lot less intuitive than a G3000 for example.

I suggest you search for the Honeywell video on Youtube about the real G12 NGX Avionics, it give a good first explanation on how it work and you'll see it is rather well implemented in the sim. There are various video on the subject from Honeywell, to also explain the PFD instrumentation

Appart from the aircraft not being able to pressurised and an issue with the standard baro setting this aircraft is growing on me and I suspect it will be my go to aircraft in MS2024 provided the bug are corrected.
