More like $10 US which equals $120

Not sure from where are you getting that information. For example, today the yearly subscription costs about US$ 86,50, which gives you a rough US$ 7,21 /month.

I've been using their suite of products, including SimBrief (now in-sim), Navigraph Charts (in-sim or from a browser, whatever), for more than two years now and have to say they're being improved every day.

For sure, I won't drop the Navigraph subscription even after installing MSFS2024, but I strongly agree that MSFS2020 users should have the option to access the MSFS2024 Flight Planner if they want to.

  • MSFS 2024 is only $70. $12 X 12 = $144. For some, that's a huge expense that doesn't need to be made for a quality flight planner.

  • It's free but their Navigraph flight planner with charts is not free. The new MSFS flight planner is similar to the Navigraph flight planner without the monthly cost.

  • You still need a Microsoft account on Steam when logging in, so everybody should have one if they are using 2020 and 2024.

Yes, you have to push a button to add SIDs and STARs.

Good news about the fuel management coming, I will re-evaluate the application in a few weeks. Hopefully it will develop well.

Yeah, I click add and select the sid and star I want. I know you can automatically add them but I’ve not tried that.

Ok n00b question #1 How do you start at a Parking Spot and not the Runway? When I select an airport in the Planner I only see "Add Departure" but that defaults to the Runway 🤔

The monthly price is 9.05 Euro. That's about $9.56 US.

I'm not sure why you think that everyone is buying the yearly plan. The post was on a monthly subscription rate. $12 a month was mentioned and that's inaccurate. It's more like $10. Give and take a few bucks.

Either way, most ain't paying the additional $120 or $87 for a subscription planner when there's one available for free. Navdata, now that's a different story.

The planner is only used to create the plan. You have to pick your actual starting location on the world map. This spawn location has no relationship at all to your plan. You could create a plan going from EHAM to ENBR but spawn at KLAX anyway. Wouldn't be a clever thing to do but well.

aahh ok thanks, I was hoping to avoid using the World Map altogether but no biggie 👍

Well, not really, we also have navdata for free. It comes with MSFS2024. The only problem I am having is that certain addons require Navigraph and/or SimBrief... If those addons would support the default navdata we could all leave Navigraph behind us. I personally would LOVE to do everything with the new default planner and the navdata plus charts that come with MSFS2024. I only need Navigraph for BATC right now... and that's a bit of a waste... I am even seriously considering to not use ATC anymore. At least until MS Asobo comes up with something useful.

Yeah, well, I only use that map to set my spawn location and that's it. So I am avoiding it for 98%, I think. 😉

The other thing that's handy (although not in the World Map either) is a way to tell the altitude of waypoints over mountain ranges, so I know that my altitude in the plane needs to be X feet above that, I can't see anything and take it there's no way to see that in the Flight Planner?
Long shot idea of course.

In the in-sim EFB version, if you have nearby ground based navaids, like a VOR, NDB, or airport, you can click on them on the map to get information about them, which if I'm remembering correctly includes the altitude. For the web version, you can also turn on MORA grid as a map layer.

Awesome thanks Matt 👍 I'll take another look tomorrow

It has been asked earlier here but I find no answer:

WHERE are the flight plans downloaded to?  They are not in the location where they are saved in game

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D  / MSI X870 Tomahawk Mobo / 64 GB DDR5 memory / RTX 4070 Super with 12 GB VRAM / AORUS FO48U 4k display
NVMe for Drive C, an NVMe device dedicated to Flight Sim 2024 and a separate NVMe device for Flight Sim 2020 and an NVMe dedicated to 500GB of addons managed by AddonsLinker   / 1 GB Comcast Xfinity Internet connection / HP Reverb G2 / Tobii 5 Head & Eye Tracking

Can you expand on your question a bit? When you say "downloaded", which action are you referring to, are you referring to saving the plan on the website, or loading the plan from the website into the EFB planner app, or something else?

They are saved in the cloud. No files are downloaded. Which is why you can instantly load a plan made online in the EFB. The plans are linked to your Xbox account.

I haven't done a ton w/ the flight planner yet, but just in using it while on cargo runs in missions I've really liked it. I'll make adjustments to my plan on the fly and click "send to avionics" and boom, it's done! And it's WT, so I'm sure it'll continue to improve.

Jorg said he didn't expect it to compete with Navigraph directly, but wanted a solid flight planner for everyone to use regardless of how new they are to simming or whether or not they can afford a third-party application. I think this is such an amazing feature.
