  • MSFS 2024 is only $70. $12 X 12 = $144. For some, that's a huge expense that doesn't need to be made for a quality flight planner.

  • It's free but their Navigraph flight planner with charts is not free. The new MSFS flight planner is similar to the Navigraph flight planner without the monthly cost.

  • You still need a Microsoft account on Steam when logging in, so everybody should have one if they are using 2020 and 2024.

It really does.

One possible fly in the ointment, though:

Access to Flight Planning and Charts requires an XBox account linked with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Don't know what that means for people who want to use the web version of the planner and have bought MSFS24 via Steam.

ASOBO needs o make this planner available to their MSFS 2020 customers since they forgot about improving the 2020 flight planner.

Also, if you paid for MSFS 2024, but uninstalled it, shouldn't you be able to use the 2024 planner?

Lastly, I know little nav map is available for free, but it's all about those charts. This planner looks like a poor man's Navigraph. That's a good thing for simmers.

Thanks for posting the video even though I knew about it on day one.

True but... If you can afford 2024 at release you really can't be too poor to pay like 12 bucks a month right?

I'm all for competition and anti monopoly too but if this pushes Navigraph to do more I'd be interested to see what that is!

But isn't Navigraphs much used flight planner already free?

Yes, but in order to use it properly (or without problems) you actually need a Navigraph account. Otherwise you can get into problems with AIRAC not syncing.

Wrong. Totally. Imho 12 bucks a month for Navigraph is A LOT. Way too expensive, really.

Anyway, that MSFS2024 planner only becomes interesting (for me anyway) when they add a one click planning feature like SimBrief does. In SB I always only have to enter DEP and ARR and off I go. (I always edit my previous flight: saves me the trouble of having to set various options time and time again. Edited flights are always saved as new ones too.)

I think Simbried and MSFS2024 planner are complementary,

With Simbrief you plan the route and manage loads of an aircraft.

You copy over the route into the FS planner and you also get access to the LIDO charts.

Just tried this and then used the route in the sim with the 737 MAX. It seems to work well with the exception that I cant find any way of planning fuel.

Looking good, my only issue is that you can only select default Aircraft unless I'm missing something.

On Navigraph, if you assume another four years before the next version of MSFS2024 comes along then that's $576 with the current subscription cost  v $70 for MSFS! After saying that I like Navigraph's approach and will keep using it for now.

I have been using this for over a week and it works great. How did you get color? Mine is black and white.
