Do you see real traffic liveries?

Featured Replies

I see 1-2 per airport, more than 90% of the aircraft have generic Airbus/Boeing liveries...

I don't see a thread on the official forum, so I am in doubt, am I the only one with this issue?

Real world traffic is enabled in the Online tab of course.

Thanks!

I recently saw Alaska Airlines in some regional airport in Germany. 😅

I know I've seen United, but mostly I get the generic looking liveries (along with planes that don't belong at certain airports, like A330s at Buffalo).

I have heard Southwest over ATC, but never saw their livery.  I'm guessing some of them have the real callsign but not a livery?

There are very, very few, real liveries at the moment. I saw Qatar Airways for example, but like you, the majority of the traffic comes in the house livery of the manufacturer at this point.

When I was able to login the first time, I saw Alaska Airlines in LIRE, an Italian military airbase 🤣

I'm just patiently waiting for AIG to figure something out at this point. I need someone to save me from having to deal with stuff like that. I'm sure that MSOBO are going to say they could not get licensing for the liveries and that's a legit excuse... no complaints there but for the ones that you do have permission to use couldn't they have figured out how to deploy the correct airline and its associated livery to the correct route ?

Hopefully by the time AIG figures out a solution there is some progress on the ship side as well. Dunno who thought is was a great idea to stuff every waterway with so many cruise ships. Too used to proper traffic in 2020 and not willing to deal with what was served in the new sim or not having it at all.

I've seen several liveries in the UK, but a lot of generics too.

I saw an Air New Zealand A320 in Bergen, Norway the other day. Very far from home!

I turn all of the default off and user PSXT/Real Traffic with AIG and you get a very good representation of real world traffic.  It isn't free but it is great in my opinion

Another broken promise from Asobo then? I would complain for sure in that case. Let's wait for a few weeks and patches...

I didn't even touch the ships topic which is even more pathetic.

I don’t think they ever promised anything with regards to liveries, but I was given the impression that there would be many at least. Many to me means a majority, the majority of liveries I see are defaults - so I’m a little disappointed also.

But I’m more disappointed in the zero progress on AI traffic logic, and the placement of inappropriate aircraft at airports - I would of expected that to be fixed by now in 2020 - not just 2024, so I’m concerned that we are once again stuck with this for the lifespan of this product.

liveries will be sorted by third parties - and to a certain extent that will always be the case.

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

AI's a mess. I'm tempted to turn it way down or off until third parties update. It seems like every runway is the active runway too. Just mayhem.

Max

I remember that it was promised, it was in the trailer also... can't recall the exact interview but I found this, so the interview was in September or before:

AI Traffic Liveries

Another area of focus has been the visual representation of airlines. The team is working on securing licenses for airline liveries, aiming to make airport scenes more authentic. While they’ve made progress, reaching about 25% coverage at the time of the presentation, they expressed commitment to expanding this further.

The impact of these changes is particularly noticeable at major airports. As an example, when landing in Paris, users will now see a rich, varied fleet that more accurately represents the complexity of real-world air traffic, including Air France aircraft, which makes the whole experience more realistic.

Depends on how you define "Doesn't work".

The models do show up when you use them with PSXT/Real Traffic. And as usual correctly model matched down to the registration number if available.

However at this point the animations and lights of the models don't work. So you won't spot them at night and they will hover around with the gear retracted and sometimes the rudder drooping. Some models even have some weird anomalies where the engines come apart and are scattered across the wing. And they also don't leave contrails.
