Of the 2024 natives I've tried, the GF Zllin Norden is good fun, and it's available in career mode. Landing at 30 knots with fowler and and flaps hanging out feels like a stroll in the park. I'm looking for suggestions for decent steam gauge options though. After more time than I would like in the C172 career missions, I am heartily sick of all that Garmin glass. I get enough of that from my watch. C414, RV8, A36 (after copying the 2020 G36) Bert

I look forward to more types being available. I understand the delay though; there's quite a lot of work in implementing the attachment points for hoists etc and the granular damage system, also the variants for the different specialisations. Once the 3rd party developers catch up...

The parking brake only works in the virtual cockpit... same with the flaps if your controls are set to increment flaps up or down. Binding issues that are hopefully easy to fix in a patch. Other than that, I've enjoyed a few flights in the SR22. Feels a lot better than the 2020 version during the touchdown flare. Working CAPS too, but it could probably use some tweaking... when I pulled the chute it had me facing nose down for the entire descent. Been enjoying the Caravan in some of the cargo missions. And I've been flying the 172 a lot. You mention it being twitchy... what controller hardware are you using, and have you adjusted the sensitives at all? I find it flies smoothly after I dialed down sensitivities appropriately for my cheap CH products stuff. Even the nicer stuff like the Honeycomb has less than half the elevator travel you'll find in most 172's, so the only option is to mess with sensitivity curve.

Have you had any luck adjusting the Extremity Deadzone? I find the default 172 in MSFS2024 to be really twitchy, but I have not spent any time dialing in the controller (CH Yoke). In MSFS2020, adjusting the sensitivity only didn't do much, but when I adjusted the Extremity Deadzone to a positive value, it REALLY cut down on the twitchiness. Does this work in '24 also? I haven't done a ton of tweaking, as the few payware planes I fly seem fine at mostly default. I had the problem off and on in 2020 too. I don't like going too far with sensitivity or you get too much movement later on in the curv. I figure payware planes will be better anyway. One of these days I need to upgrade my rudder pedals. My ancient CH pedals are old, although they seem fine. The A2A Comanche flies great with my setup. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF

I tried adjusting the extremity dead zone for the pedal brakes but it didn't seem to work as I expected. I hope Asobo adds a controller movement indicator to show how the curves are applied as you move through the axis, it must be an oversight/bug since I think this was in 2020? Below are the X and Y settings for my yoke if you want to see how they feel with your setup:
May 18, 20251 yr I just got FS2024 and I think my GA plane will be the Carenado F-33A. A2A is slow in its production and I wish RealAir Simulations be back on the makert but that's not going to happen. And who remembers Dreamfleet? Edited May 18, 20251 yr by Simicro FS2024

I took a break from this hobby and really didn't follow things for quite a few years, I was always wondering what happened to Dreamfleet. I flew their Beech Baron a ton (IIRC they had a Beech single too?) I basically got fed up with FSX and didn't really fly until 2020 came out. So many vendors have changed over those years. Anyway, since this was my original question, I'll answer with what GA planes I'm flying (keep the recommendations coming). My favorite lately is the Flysimware Sierra C24R. I recently picked that up and it is my main aircraft for now. I still fly the COWS DA-40 and -42 twin a lot. I have not installed the A2A comanche into 2024 yet. I had flown that so much in 2020. I haven't ported over any of the Blacksquare stuff yet either. For something a little bigger I really enjoy the FSR500 (Piper M500) I haven't bought any of the Carenado native planes in 2024 yet. I hear they are pretty good, but I doubt I'll fly them much over the others right now. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
May 18, 20251 yr We users, can make a break or pause on the hobby (like I just did for 3-4 years)... but I notice that we generally end up returning. Regarding developers, it's another story. Once the quit they generally do not return. A thread on what happened to Dreamfleet: FS2024
