I once had this at random in this beta (or maybe a release just before - I can't remember), but then I get lots of other things at random as well. My view settings seem to just change when they feel like it (on start ups in particular - maybe the same as you mention - they don't hold), and I even got completely stuck in the controls section a while back as I couldn't escape out by any means - was right in the middle of a flight - I had to use Alt-F4, and that is it, that flight is gone! Not having an easy way to set up my Tobii is killing me, as like you say, just like TrackIR, it alleviates a lot of the FoV and view settings issues anyway. This all worked fine in 2020 for me. I understand it is a beta, but it is surely getting close to release, and while we always move forward with each SU, I am not sure this one is in the best of shapes at the moment. We are now 8 months in and still some of the basics still aren't right. At this rate, I am worried it is going to take another year at least before we get to 2020 levels of usability. I am a bit down about it actually, so I am sure MS / Asobo must be feeling it as well. Sometimes I think I will dive in for an hour, then I just think no, it is too much of a mixed bag still. Trouble is, once you have sampled the best bits of 2024 that work well, I have no real appetite to go back to 2020, as I am sure you can understand. Yes, feel this too. After this time with 2024, you certainly notice 2020's limitations in the areas improved in 2024. April 23, 20251 yr Thanks for this information and explanation! I'm going to experiment with this and some of my most frequently used aircraft. I use the VFR pilot view as my default view for all aircraft so that will be a good starting point. No two flights seem to give the same results. 1.4.14 beta now gives a strange issue on landing, where my frame rate drops to 11-20 FPS range and recovers after I leave the runway. Prior to this, a solid 60FPS from departure to the point of landing! I'm using the Fenix in my tests, at various airports. No point in using default aircraft for my tests, as I never fly them.... probably never will. i7 12700K , DDR4 64GB RAM @3600MHz, Asus Z690-Plus D4 MB, Gainward 4090 RTX Graphics, 850W Corsair PSU, Kraken AIO watercooler, Nvme 1TB ssd, 1TB ssd, 500GB ssd.

Only drawback is now that scenery looking much blurrier due to the extra zoom, but really feel it makes a positive difference in terms of sense of speed so will keep it regardless! I found the same thing...this was in the FSS 727 in FS2024. Maybe I messed something up but I went through the steps a few times and came to the same conclusion. I had to alter my FOV quite a bit and while the cockpit was fine, the scenery out the front window was quite blurry. April 24, 20251 yr Author In my opinion, most of the time its a server issue. One day I can have sharp textures and no stutter, another day, same location, same aircraft and otherwise same conditions, textures are a blurry mess while getting huge spikes on the main thread. April 24, 20251 yr I’m leaning more toward there’s a step I’m not doing right since it seems there’s only two of us reporting the issue. Also, wouldn’t be a server issue as the scenery is only blurry in the one view I’ve changed the FOV for, and it returned to normal when I changed the FOV back. I agree that you may have missed a step. The scenery isn't blurry at correct FOV here. I have noticed the camera view keys are not working correctly for me, so I am setting the FOV each time I enter an aircraft. Only takes a few seconds so no problem until the camera keys work correctly. October 21, 2025Oct 21 I just ran across this thread. I'm flying the Fenix. 55" TV and 32" from the screen I get vFOV at 94 degrees. 94/57.3 = 1.64. Brought up debug mode and my default FOV was about 1.08 (ish) at 50%. I kept scaling my camera zoom all the way down to 10% and got FOV up to about 1.4. That's astonishing that 10% zoom couldn't get up to 1.64! I set up a flight and, weirdly, it looked pretty good. Some things were weird. I seemed far away from the PFD but couldn't really move forward because the dash would block part of the PFD and any adjustment to fix that would have messed up the view outside and enhance a "fishbowl" effect. Leaving my original view was the only real option. Tried a few landings. Have to say, it seemed about right...which again, to me, was very strange. Maybe I did something wrong? Are these setting similar to anyone else? Also, anyone ever hear of "Panini" projection? I wonder if that would help? Gregg Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane.
