NO, I was wrong, my apologies. In 2013.

Actually, you are not fully wrong 🙂 Alex Bashkatov, who is now lead developer for 777, already developed 777 and 747 back in 2002-2003 for Phoenix Simulations (FS2000-FS2004).

Yes, I'm that old 🙂

  • probably the best chance for a better outcome would be if you take your complaints directly to the pmdg forum or file a ticket with them, instead of harping on this over and over again in a flight sim

Casual DDowns claiming nothing is wrong like usual. Just keeps telling PMDG what they want to hear. Narcissist behaviour

  • @RNAVV19R completely agree with your thoughts on the wind, turn the wind off and it’s fine. I’d also love to see the ifly 747-400 brought into MSFS 2024, a bit of competition is good for everyone

If FS2000 is the furthest that you can go back in your flight simulation history, then you are not old

HA. Too true.  Can you say, “FS1 Flight Simulator” by subLogic?  Do I make the old guy cut LoL!

If you’ve not flown through wire frame mountains, you’ve not flown !

I can go one better. The mountains in Psion Flight Simulator for the ZX Spectrum 48K (Christmas 1982) were a cardboard cutout style background!!

..and why after so long has it been denied

I am beyond belief that this company is still not fixing this particular PMDG BOEING 777 after such a long time. Why?

Understandably, a software might have bugs and certain issues after release, and most developers will release patches and product improvements.

Unfortunately, at PMDG, this 777 has been known since  P3D, MSFS2020, and now for MSFS2024,  to have this big bug related to the wrong implementation of the trim speed feature carried over from one platform to the other consistently during all these years. This feature is creating quick/abrupt pitch oscillations and failing to provide accurate and realistic behavior during C*U control law in hand-flying conditions, and it still has not been resolved.

THE REAL AIRPLANE IN REAL LIFE DURING SPEED AND CONFIGURATION CHANGES, IT IS VERY STABLE AND IT DOES NOT FLY LIKE THIS.

Real pilots brought this problem to their attention SINCE the 1990s, and stubbornly, even today, it has not been fixed.

Very upsetting to see them in such a state of denial, stubbornly continuing on this path.

Totally agree.

I tend to not agree with the OPs use of hyperbole in other threads and posts of his but this thread is spot on. I couldn’t agree more with him. Secondly, RSR mentioned they “tuned” the fbw logic with the new release of the -200ER and that it will carry over to the -300ER in 2024. However, still feels the same. I cannot imagine that the real 777 would ever fly the way the PMDG simulation flies.

Disclaimer: Im a captain on the 737 in the real world and am also typed on the 757/767. I have never touched the 777.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

This was my first (combat) sim when I was 16. Played it on a Compaq Portable in the shop I worked in (on my Yoof Training Scheme).

No improvement whatsoever. Even if they made it fly in pitch like a traditional airplane, it would be further ahead.

£25 a week + travel expenses 😮

The YTS got a lot of stick, but it worked for this rudderless school leaver who got taught a trade and started a career.

Yes, I was very envious of my mate who was on one, he had a job, an income and most annoyingly of all ,bought and ran a moped with his wages.

I think any sort of wind or gusts just completely breaks the 777. If you just use the clear weather preset, the plane seems perfectly fine. But when you switch to live weather, it just becomes a mess. Same thing with the 777-300ER.

Initially they ignored these complaints, but they supposedly tried to address them with the release of the 200ER without success. I don't expect this to change anytime soon, since it has plagued their 777 for years across different sims.

I would love to see iFly try their hand at the 777. Their 737 MAX is already superior to anything PMDG has released.
