Did you quote the wrong person.. or are you saying @JRBarrett is wrong? I think you didn't mean that.

I may accidentally quoted myself in a previous reply to Claudius. 😯

I would say it definitely compares favorably to the PMDG aircraft.  My personal take, after flying NGs and Maxs for a living for the last 11 years, is that I prefer the iFly.  But, that doesn't mean t

The bigger screens are nice for sure.  Obviously that's just a Max thing vs an iFly thing, but it's still nice.  But specifically about the iFly, things I like:  - OUTSTANDING flight model.  Leap

That's probably it. Or the system doesn't pick up when you quote out of a quote. Which is what I did. That's why it shows up as me quoting you, because I was. Only that you were also quoting Claudius.

Now my head is spinning. 😵‍💫

Liking this plane very much. Loved it in MSFS202 and it pretty much almost replaced the PMDG 737.

Done a number of flights now and as others have said; hand flies beautifully. One odd thing, that might be me accidentally pushing some button, is that the Captains PFD gets unresponsive. However if I use the controls on the F/O's side it works. Have I pushed some button or is this actually an issue?

After two flights in 2024 SU3 B5, I am really pleased with this aircraft. It performs well FPS-wise, and all systems appear to work very well. I had never flown the FS2020 version, or the Asobo Max, but having hundreds of hours in the PMDG 737NG in 2020, operating it was intuitive and no problem.

There are some known issues. Apparently, going beyond page 2 on the PROG page on the FMS will trigger a WASM crash, and weather radar does not (yet) work, but the terrain display does work nicely.

LNAV/VNAV performance was excellent, as was ILS tracking.

You can open doors using the EFB, but there does not appear to be an EFB function to trigger a jetway to connect. Hopefully they will add that at some point. You can import flight plans from Sim Brief, but not passenger/cargo/fuel weights. The EFB works well, but is more complicated and less intuitive than the PMDG EFB.

All-in-all it was well worth the price, especially since it appears that it will be quite some time before PMDG brings the NG line to MSFS 2024

And the absolute “gold standard” for real world accuracy of sim aircraft, the Aerowinx PSX 747-400, definitely does it.

Very true, and I love the shout-out to PSX. Off topic, but during the transition in PSX, I'll often switch to V/S mode in the climb (keeping it at 2000 fpm) so as to keep the cabin climb rate below 700 fpm for passenger comfort (and to prevent the nagging EICAS indications), and then switch back into VNAV at cruising altitude or thereabouts. That's with a lightly loaded aircraft; when heavy, the effect is still there but the cabin climb remains comfortable.

I did an empty ferry flight in a 747-400F in PSX from KCVG to KORD. Light fuel load as well. Even with reduced thrust double derate on takeoff I was seeing 6000 FPM+ in initial climb!

Exactly which Panel are you talking about?

All's good. Just removed the plane then re-installed. Flew perfectly from EGPH to CYHZ.

After several flights in the Max8. it's a bummer that the FMC's don't pop out like PMDG Boeings. Not everyone flies in VR. A pop out panel would be nice.

Just wondering:

Is it normal behaviour that when I arm auto throttle that the selected speed on MCP resets to 0?

Happens every flight I put V2 like 150 and then when arming AT before takeoff the MCP speed resets it to 0

That doesnt sound right under normal conditions. Have you setup FMC with performance and weights?

Nope.  How are you arming the autothrottle?  Keybind, or clicking the switch on the MCP?  If keybind, maybe a conflict.

Andrew Crowley

It could be a script I downloaded for Lorby AAO for either Autothrottle or TOGA for buttons on my hardware MCP combo.

Will try again later!

Thanks for the help

Turns out that the ILS capture issue is actually a sim or navdata issue. Happens in other planes as well.

Anyways, I love this product. Easily my favorite to fly. Only thing that bothers me is the HUD, which is still not usable when hand flying non-straight in approaches.

It is not a hardware issue but:

After I arm Autothrotlle on the ground and then press LVL CHG it changes speed to 004 (was set to V2 = 150)

Is that correct behaviour?

I did not touch any buttons only in the software itself

So it changes the speed to the actual speed on the PFD, this means I can not arm LVL CHG in the 737 MAX while on the ground?

You never arm LVL CHG on the ground .

no such thing
