August 1, 2025Aug 1 I hope this could be helpful to others and that many results are posted as replies below. ChatGPT has gotten me and my setup to the most ideal level it has ever been, and the process has actually been very fun and interesting. Would recommend everyone who seeks a simulator that is optimized in a perfect way for their setup to give this a go in ChatGPT. I had to make quite a few replies with me adding additional images etc, but asked to get a single command that would make only one single command necessary to get their whole setup evaluated and afterwards perfectly tuned in so others could try it in a very easy way. Here is my entire chat from the start, and that can of course be used as well since the template doesn't include everything I finetuned together with ChatGPT, so this could also be a template to use if you wan't to go the entire way with your setup and its potential. This goes down to capping your FPS in RTSS at a 3 decimal level. https://chatgpt.com/share/688c2f05-d9cc-800d-82d9-bf5976a56665 One Command Template "I want to optimize MSFS for a [V-Sync / G-Sync / No Sync] setup at [Hz] Hz, targeting [FPS] FPS with [DLSS3 FrameGen / DLSS2 / TAA] on a [GPU model] and [CPU model]. My monitor resolution is [Resolution] @ [Hz] Hz. I use [RTSS / In-game limiter / none]. I will upload: - UserCfg.opt - FlightSimulator.exe.cfg - NVIDIA Profile Inspector (.nip) file - RTSS screenshots (global/app/setup) - In-game graphics settings screenshot - (Optional) Global/Config/NVCP text files Please analyze the full setup, validate sync + frame pacing, generate FPS/frametime graphs (320s), compare LLM On vs Ultra, and give me a full performance rating, latency diagram, and setup summary others can follow." ---- Example of my system and what I could have used to avoid many additional replies "I want to optimize MSFS for a V-Sync setup at 60Hz, targeting 59.94 FPS with DLSS3 FrameGen on a 2080 Ti and 7800X3D. My monitor resolution is 2560x1440 @ 60Hz. I use RTSS. I will upload: UserCfg.opt, FlightSimulator.exe.cfg, NPI .nip file, 3 RTSS screenshots, and my in-game graphics screenshot. Please analyze full setup, validate pacing, generate graphs, compare LLM On vs Ultra, and give me a full summary and rating." I hope this could be useful and would be interesting to see what others get as a reply and if the score isn't where you would have liked what ChatGPT suggests to change straight away or after a reply with something like "To get this as ideal as possible for my setup, what do you recommend me to change?". To give proof of it actually working perfectly, I will post my result from the sim as the first so that there is 100% truth in this. This is as perfect as it can get for my setup. August 1, 2025Aug 1 Author Here is an edited, but more of a readme like guide that is more easy to follow in terms of adding your own setup in the template. =============================== EASY MSFS CONFIG ANALYSIS PROMPT =============================== Just attach the following: - `UserCfg.opt` - RTSS config files (`Global` and `FlightSimulator.exe.cfg`) - NPI `.nip` export Then, copy and fill in the prompt below: ------------------------------------------ COPY AND FILL THIS PROMPT IN CHATGPT ------------------------------------------ Please analyze my Microsoft Flight Simulator setup by reviewing the attached UserCfg.opt, RTSS config files (Global and FlightSimulator.exe.cfg), and Nvidia Profile Inspector .nip file, and then give me a categorized summary, 0–100 ratings for each section, and a final verdict on whether this qualifies as a “Holy Grail” configuration — my display is [ENTER YOUR RESOLUTION @ REFRESH RATE, e.g., 1920x1080 @ 75Hz], my sync method is [e.g., RTSS cap at 74.846 FPS + V-Sync], DLSS mode is [Balanced | Quality | Performance | Off], and Frame Generation is [On | Off]. ------------------------------------------ EXAMPLE (YOU CAN USE THIS AS A GUIDE) ------------------------------------------ Please analyze my Microsoft Flight Simulator setup by reviewing the attached UserCfg.opt, RTSS config files (Global and FlightSimulator.exe.cfg), and Nvidia Profile Inspector .nip file, and then give me a categorized summary, 0–100 ratings for each section, and a final verdict on whether this qualifies as a “Holy Grail” configuration — my display is 2560x1440 @ 60Hz (59.946 exact refresh rate), my sync method is RTSS cap at 59.846 FPS + V-Sync, DLSS mode is Balanced, and Frame Generation is On. ------------------------------------------ NOTE: Only change the parts in [brackets] and make sure your files are attached. This template works for all fixed refresh and FG-enabled setups. Benjamin Hennes Ryzen 7 7800X3D | Strix 2080Ti 11GB | 32GB DDR5 | 1TB SSD | Windows 11 Home
August 1, 2025Aug 1 Sounds like solid advice based on my experience diving into this. If you had a G-sync display, you wouldn’t need RTSS to lock frame rate, Nvidia low latency mode plus Vsync (in NVCP) will take care of that. For example, I run a 120Hz G-Sync display and with low latency mode, V-Sync (On in CP only - off in game), and G-Sync, Nvidia will auto cap FPS at 116.

August 1, 2025Aug 1 Author Point of this is to give tips to other simmers that might look for something like this and I try to provide actual proof of this not being something I have just put together and not even tested it myself, but good thing I have learn't that getting serious response is way too much to expect and I really do not see the point of the last reply to be honest. Yes, it is from using ChatGPT, but has nothing to do with what I am actually trying to bring forward to others. I forgot to delete the note in the end since I hope that it will be a good starting point with every setup when the template is edited according to your setup. 25 minutes ago, MrFuzzy said: Where does "59.94 FPS" comes from? That comes from my RTSS Global Cap that I have set besides the MSFS one as a safety cap. If someone disagrees with it, please look through the images. Here is with the edited template I added afterwards. Benjamin Hennes Ryzen 7 7800X3D | Strix 2080Ti 11GB | 32GB DDR5 | 1TB SSD | Windows 11 Home

Looked like a magic number but further investigation took me to this: Legacy Video Compatibility: The 59.94 Hz (often rounded to 59.97 Hz) refresh rate originates from NTSC video standards used in North America. It’s designed to sync smoothly with media encoded at that frame rate, like DVDs and broadcast TV So this refresh rate is a legacy and has nothing to do with gaming. BTW MSFS performance is OK nowadays, you can just simply lock fps at 60 and forget about any other fiddling. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

That was towards the image of the simmer that was posted, which I really did not bother to quote in once again. And it is related to my monitors actual refresh rate according to displayhz.com. That is 59.9468, but went for 59.94 to keep it below to avoid going over it. And I do agree, that setup have I used for years, but I like to simply try and get the absolute most out of what I have of hardware and since I am using the dlss-fsr3 mod my mainthread gets absolutely hammered when using Nvidias FPS cap due to Nvidia Reflex, so as seen in the image from the sim, that is not the case anymore. That was one of the main reasons of giving it a go, and I am now using RTSS Back Edge Sync FPS limiter at my actual refresh rate minus 0.100 and my sim has never been running better. Got inspired by a low-lag vSync video and found it interesting how that was tuned in. Thanks for the heads up, Fenix is my most used plane, but unfortunately been busy the last weeks so haven't installed the BFU yet, so that is why I haven't set it to high since even though it can be boring to read how to properly update and configure your setting according to the Fenix team, it has become a routine to do that, but I could have easily been one of many that just updates and just expecting old settings to work. Incorrect. You should read more carfully what their FAQ said about the weather radar. You should use high refresh rates becaue going lower risks artifacts. If you use the Fenix own alternate display renderer THAT's what will prevent the WXR from showing up, NOT the refresh rate.
