Look at that nutter on Everest. Totally inadequate clothing, and a pair of trainers!

Legend has it, he's still up there.

  • Time for a Mountainbike in the sim it seems. As this would be traceable by LNM and such

  • I can tell you that something similar is in the works 😗   In the meantime, if you enjoy guided tours in the mountains, this may be fun

I have been continuing to do some hikes.

I usually make roundtrips but in case I have a tour where I had to go back the same way I now use Mamudesigns nifty little program that comes with the lift package, to call my Jettson One to my position, hop in and fly back.

In VR that is indescribable.

If I had 80k of spare money lying around I would buy a real one.

It's pretty useless as an aircraft but as a pure recreational vehicle that can get you at least on the top of the next mountain or into the nearest village it is perfect.

In the FSX days, there was an eagle as steerable aircraft.
Piloting this bird (with feathers and moving wings - depending on throttle), one looked through his eyes (and it screamed from time to time like eagles do).
I think, it would have been funny to fly such an animal from the mountains top down to the valleys...😜

Lol 😆 not really an ad

More of a market survey,

I had little return/reviews on the guided tour part of those animated cable cars,

And that part alone took a lot of effort training the AI trying to teach her the difference between left and right

So before getting involved in walking tours I would love a bit more feedback

I'm actually a mountaineer and love exploring paths in the game (already have some personal tools to show the paths on the ground)

The idea is to provide an interface to load kml/gpx,

Showing the data on a moving map on the EFB , and if course the position of the avatar

According to the path, placing signs/stones with path markings and numbers,

and have a guide character to follow,

Leaving to AI a narration about the surrounding

That is all possible, dunno how much people will be interested!

Absolutely interested.  so your add-on would do a tour for anywhere you give it a route for. Sounds awesome

Oh yea I remember that eagle...those random sounds it made as well!🤣

The Dragon mod flies the same way in MSFS....

As I recall, in FSX there was an add-on for walking the Appalachian Trail -- over 2000 miles -- that includes signs on the ground and markers to enable following the route. This was great in FSX, but could be awesome in MS2024 if someone went to the trouble of creating it!

I found that you really have to pick your routes carefully. I just started the E5, a long distance hiking trail from the Bretagne in France,  to Verona, Italy with the most famous part being a 10 day crossing of the Alps and at least a two day trip walking through Paris. GPX data readily available, importable into LittleNavmap. So far so good.

But the terrain is relatively flat at first and the first section is 70 KM's long. Since you are only faster uphill in the sim, this means about 3 days of walking 6-7 hours in that terrain along the cliffs.

I mean the landscape is nice, but that's taking it a bit far to do virtually. In that case you'll just have to hop into Jetson One and fly it low and real slow to be able to make the distance in a reasonable amount of time.

I look forward to the day animated avatar pilots can interact with objects, like stairs, doors, etc.  So to get in the plane open the doors and stairs walk up and into the cockpit and sit down. To be able to move as is the case in many other video games would be a plus worth developing.

Yeah, I was very surprised they implemented what’s really a half-baked avatar… I can interact with many parts of the exterior or walk up Everest but I can’t board the plane!

You can, as Fenix demonstrated.

You can board the plane, if the developer of the plane has implemented it. Here is Fenix, who show that you can walk up the stairs, and walk into the plane at the 17:23 mark of the video:
