Stutters in Menue since SU3

Featured Replies

Hi all, as it is really killing my nerves recently, a quick question if someone maybe found a fix for this: since SU3, the sim stutters like crazy in the menues. Especially when selecting free flight, the selection menue is loaded with the world in the background and then I get a solid 2-3 second stutter until I can select my departure. Also zooming and moving around on the world map is a stutterfest. Once loaded fully in the sim, the performance is unaffected and the same, even slightly better compared to pre-SU3, but the menues is a pain. What could be the cause?

Greetings, Chris

You should be thankful. I got stutters almost always when panning on the ground. This SU3 should be on the wall of shame at Asobo's office.

I've seen this as well in menus but my game play is very smooth.   Just a hunch,  something is up on the server side of things.

Same with me - typing an airport name is painful.

Yup, hitching or delays in all sort of mouse click input fields and areas.

It's waiting for something in the background but locks up the UI in the process. It was introduced in SU3 indeed, it's amazing how devs don't "see" these things and let a product release (in this case a product update) in this state.

The lack of polishing in MSFS series is absurd, but coming from MS... Can't say i'm surprised.

Have stutters too but the amount and the duration of the following freeze depends on how many addons are within the area I am trying to zoom in and start my flight.

I can deal with menu or UI stutters - as long as my sim flying is smooth.

As soon as I click on free flight, the sim pauses and i have to wait about 30 seconds before i can set the weather and airport for takeoff.  This has only been happening with SU3 - Glad it's not only me having problems.  Not suer if it is an SU3 glitch that needs patching or a server issue.

You all could try doing a repair of the sim..

I’ve even tried a full windows reinstall. There are loads of people with the same issues, SU3 is inherently broken and the issues are impacting some and not others (ironically people with high end systems appear to be impacted more often).

My sim ran perfectly with SU2, since SU3 it’s practically unusable. The MS forums are full of people with similar experiences.

I wouldn't call this "stutters"

It just loads something in the background once and one has to wait about 5-7 seconds until everything becomes active again.

I certainly agree- increased STUTTERS in TAXI and the rubbish LOD was supposed to get smoother Sim experience at all cost.

Is ANYONE overseeing this consistent over promise and under delivery at MS?

I cannot begin to understand what sort of QC process allows these sort of releases.

For me it's the exact opposite. With SU2 it ran like dogpoo, and SU3 finally gave me top performance.
