April 16, 200917 yr Cool, thanks! Any shots of the forward VC and overhead would be good. Similar to what you showed in your night shots. I'm mainly looking for the high resolution though. If I deem it to be high enough resolution for me, I may consider trying this bird out. Though I will probably wait to see what comes from navigraph first. I don't want this to turn into a waste like the CS 757 because of the lack of navdata. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
April 16, 200917 yr Someone asked me about "GoFlight" modules and an "SDK" for Ariane X2. This is the answer that was sent on that: Yes we do have one of those modules that we have designed. It is being tested and will be released later this month.Sargeski, you need to put the landing gear lever in neutral and the autobrakes "Off". Just kidding :( Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)

April 16, 200917 yr This statement is totally inaccurate. Ariane has activated my products several times without question or charge. If you read the Ariene customer forums you will see that no one has a problem with activation. So whats this

This is the answer that was sent on that:Sargeski, you need to put the landing gear lever in neutral and the autobrakes "Off". Just kidding :(Hmmm Goflight is pretty naff, especially their MCP which if you search these forums will see is often full of bugs, but at least that is a good sign that they are developing for hardware. They Emailed me to say they are going to contact OpenCockpits (For those Interested http://www.opencockpits.com/index.php?newlang=english this is the link for their great hardware) So hopefully they will look into supporting further hardware so that they can take this aircraft out of being a SimToy and more into a proper simulator. Becasuse if they support the likes of OpenCockpits they will suddenly find a very large increase in sales as this is one of the best Hardware interfaces for cockpit builders at a far better price than some of those other hardware manufactures out there, far more configurable, not locked into using the hardware the way the manufacture says you have to with there simple interfaces. So i'll continue to wait and see the upcoming review, wait for the Navdata patch/FMC update, and support for hardware, although they better get a move on with all that, cus if the PMDG 737 comes out before and as hardware support then that will be getting my money (and probably less of it) Because i still have some aprehension about Ariane 's customer support, and charging methods and also the rather Naff Activation service.RegardsJames Regards James Carr
April 16, 200917 yr I'd also like to question Bob's claims that he receives FREE "one to one" level of support with his email penpals at Ariane!?Seems they also charge the general public
April 16, 200917 yr Great thread, good information, lots of reading.Going back to the holiday purchase delays, I need to get on my soap box: I routinely purchase software during holidays and weekends from outfits such as Flight 1, PMDG, HiFiSim, JustFlight, and just this last Easter Sunday from Electronic Art's online store. The reason is simple: it's when I'm not at the office, so it's when I have time to splurge on the hobby (ok, the EA purchase had little to do with FS :)). Three things have mostly happened when I make (countless?) online purchases: ONE: I get a confirmation of the purchase immediately on the site with the activation key right there and then: TWO: I get one, usually two, confirmation e-mails - one being from the e-commerce transaction, the other being the license key confirmation. THREE: I get a download link to the product and, in the case of the couple of downloads, it was a 2.3 Gb file. This also happens across different time zones and currencies, thanks to the Internet, so my 18:00 purchase from the US midwest may be 02:00 in the U.K., it still works. In other words, I'm up an running within 20 minutes my download completes. Even when the product was only available on DVD, I have received it in a couple of days (a week if coming from overseas). I understand that. Shipping time is not the problem. Reponse time to a request is.I'll report another story of customer service here: I recently purchased a drum type composter from a company in Pensylvania. The unit arrived last Friday, and I discovered a part was missing. I called the company which had customer service desk on Saturday through 17:00, on Easter weekend, and got the missing part shipped two day air for free with profuse apologies for the mishap. I got it two business days later. While I was unhappy the Q/A area didn't do its job packaging my unit, at least the service area did its part, which made the experience much better.I'm unhappy when I read that an e-commerce merchant uses the holidays as an excuse for a delay providing service. I can understand why some products are not available for download, although in this day and age, my idea of e-commerce that holds water is providing both a download and the option for a CD/DVD version. If you are a merchant selling a product, you enter into a tacit agreement with your customers. If you wish to have a solid and positive reputation, you will be judged not only by your product, but also by the after-sales service you provide. Look at single shop places such as FSUIPC or FSBuild - fantastic support, during holidays, late at night, etc, and it's one person, dedicated to the hobby and the customer. Yes, they also post on their forums when service will not be available, such as "I'll be out for a bit on my vacation and won't answer posts". I think good communication is an essential part of customer service and vendors always set expectations for your customers as to what you will do based on what you can do, not make claims you cannot meet. It's not reasonable to expect service over the weekends or holidays, but it is used entirely too often, and the point is that many vendors seem to have worked out how to provide service during those times. There are also freeware devs out there who provide this level of service and don't charge a dime for it.Clearly the experience with other vendors set the bar for what constitutes service, and one would hope that the more expensive the product, the better the service. The few subpar vendors out there should stop using excuses for delays and put service up front and center. Also, as a dev myself, and there are many e-commerce sources out there who do all this download, licensing and e-commerce work for you, very effectively, and it's not that terribly expensive at about 10 to 20% of the sales cost, and they also handle the merchant tax bit for you. That's reasonable for the quality of service provided if you cannot provide the service yourself because of the size of your outfit (a group of one?. :)Etienne MartinAVSIM staff reviewer

April 16, 200917 yr The bulk of posts from Ariane supporters have been polite, courteous and have contained really good accurate information.Responses to these posts have ranged from sarcastic, personally insulting, repeating of inaccurate, misleading and out of context information and Moderation of the thread who chooses to weigh in on one side(this may get me banned but so be it). To those in this camp who have responded in a polite courteous and informative manner I apologize if I have grouped you in here - I have honestly enjoyed reading your thoughts and comments.Credibility of Ariane is not what is at stake here. It is the credibility of this forum that is at stake. There is a concentrated effort to slam one developer happening. What happens when this group mob mentality decides to go after another developer? Were I a potential advertiser here I would give this some thought.
April 16, 200917 yr If they react cleaverly (better support, better reactivity to queries, better activation process, better pricing, free services...) they/we should all benefit from this long but somehow positive discussion.I'd actually buy it then! I cant wait to get my hands on a 737NG for FSX, but I just cant justify the risk of spending that much money for something that I might have problems installing/activating/using and then being left out in the cold and having to spend more money to get the support to get it working. I have both the PMDG FSX aircraft and i'll be buying both the JS41 and 737NGX the day they come out, same with LDS, good experience with their 767 and with their support when I did have issues, so I will be buying their 757 the day its released, and purely going off the level of support available on the Airsimmer forum, I'll be buying their A320 the day its released on FSX.
April 16, 200917 yr HelloAfter reading through this thread, I put Ariane's activation procedure to the testI originally purchased the Ariane BBJ version 3.5 through simmarket on the 27 of july 2007After a reformat and reinstall of FS9 due to a new MB and CPU upgrade I did not reinstall the BBJ.I was not expecting much joy when sent the keyfile email to Ariane, I also explained that it was to be installed on different hardware due to my upgrades. On wednesday afternoon I got my registration codes in an email and the BBJ is working again.Ariane did not charge to reactivate (I was expecting them to)Nor did they complain about the change of hardware.I was expecting to jump through hoops to get the BBJ activated but it was very easyIt took four days, for which they apologised in the email.I probably wont buy the FSX version as in the present climate I feel it is more than I will pay now for any addonno matter who the Developer was, and I spend more time in FS9 these days anyway.

Most of the guys here want to give them a chance, stop rehashing the whole discussion over again, it turns to real and boring paranoia!Regarding moderation, I am a free person, I don't defend companies that are potential advertisers, I defend the truth because my interest is the interest of the simmers community. If you believe I tipped the balance in one side favour it's your right, nobody will ban you for that!! - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
April 16, 200917 yr It does actually say in their terms and conditions (which you accept you've read when you tick the box on the checkout page) that they reserve the right to charge you for re-activation and support etcI'd suggest people actually read it before purchasing http://www.arianedesign.com/Content.do?sta...p;content=termsEven so, I'm getting quite tempted to buy this now, I really want a complex 737-800 in FSX. Maybe i'll give it a go, see if I end up getting burned or not.interesting review of this plane here, translated from german using googlehttp://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl...l%3Den%26sa%3DG

Persecution? Enhancing a developers image? Why are you expressing thoughts such as these? A Moderator should moderate, not participate, were we to live in a perfect world. Bottom line is people attempt to give what is in their opinion an honest statement of facts and because there is not a logical response the poster is targeted. Go Figure. I honestly believe this is an excellent constantly evolving product. Some add on aircraft are released to the public, patched a few times and that is the end of their development and they still leave a lot to be desired. I own a few of these. Will I get the pmdg 737 when it comes out.....probably as I have always liked what they have built......but you can bet your boots, or sandals or whatever that it will not be cheap like some here want. If you want quality it will cost. Will I get another Ariane 737.....definitely. Bottom line - vote with your wallet. For me flight simming is a hobby, something to do for fun, a chance to experience aircraft types that it is unlikely I will get my hands on before I retire. When friends and past co-workers are kind enough to get me into their level D sims I get a chance to see just how good some of these add on aircraft are (or are not). And, once again, these are simply personal opinions.
