Microsoft Flight Simulator | Local Legend 22: The NAMC YS-11

This old video from the FS2002/2004 era is what the NAMC YS-11 should sound like, so I'm hoping they can incorporate a more robust sound set soon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMltJCnWLno

Also hoping it won't take a month for 2020 repaints, nor multiple months for further updates/patches. Bad thing is since this is a marketplace release I suppose they are subject to the speed of Asobo/MS.

The exterior sounds were ok but the internal ones not so.

Cheers

  • You can rent it for a day for free.  Click on the plane and then click Free Trial.  You actually have to click on the little icon of the plane as if you were going to buy it. I'm actually pleasan

  • Nice, but after watching this, I can't help but think JustFlight need to update the HS748 and get that out of the door.

  • Better than none.

For which? The old AFG is recorded from the actual aircraft. I’d say the inibuilds model has better interior sounds vs exterior.

Trouble configuring the throttles

I seem to having issues configuring the Thrustmaster throttles so they ignore reverse settings  - There is no OIS to custom configure them in the NAMC

I agree.  The exterior engines sound very good.  especially at idle and low thrust.  There is a weird overmodulated rumble noise that occurs later in the climb I've never liked.

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

Made a short test flight.

It's nice but flight dynamics wise I have to question the almost total lack of slipstream effects on yaw and bank during inicial acceleration on the takeoff run and then during the climb... As if it had counyer-rotating props...

Engine out, non feathered looks ok thought.

Yep, for the AFG the exterior sounds great, while I think for this new inibuilds model the interior sounds great.

For those interested, the old AFG model also has two images of the real-world abbreviated checklist in its bright gaudy yellow glory! Very helpful for procedurally flying this bird!

I'm liking this bird. Regarding bugs, how is this plane doing, when compared with the default Saab?

Quite a few nice ones on FS.TO now.

Anyone else having difficulty getting the WT430 to turn on when starting from Cold & Dark?  Only way I can get it to turn on is in ready to fly mode.

For some reason I can't get the AP to follow the GPS track either.  I wonder if my WT 430 is messed up...

I usually use the GTN650 option but ensure that your avionics switches are flipped on the upper overhead panel. May need to include screenshots of the overhead to see if anything is missing.

Also, ensure the 430 is on GPS mode and and not VLOC, and that the autopilot is in TRK mode.

Respectfully, did you review the manual and are you following the EFB checklist?

Reinstalled the 430 and now it turns on.

25+ year simmer...always read the manuals.  For some reason the TRK button isn't working in GPS mode...only VLOC.

Will have to check later today as I only use the 650 for the greater situational awareness and capabilities it provides, but if repeatable it may be something to post on their forums regarding TRK being inop with the 430 in GPS.

Going to do a clean reinstall of the WT430 this afternoon and report back.
