To me, Spam has always been gross, but we ate it because kids will eat anything. Later, as a family joke and an ode to Monty python, at least one can was always kept in the house.

Now finally I get to see how its made, and realize that I could have happily lived the entire rest of my life without knowing.

Wife: Have you got anything without spam?

Waitress: Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it.

Wife: I don't want ANY spam!

Man: Why can't she have egg bacon spam and sausage?

Wife: THAT'S got spam in it!

Man: Hasn't got as much spam in it as spam egg sausage and spam, has it?

Vikings: Spam spam spam spam (crescendo through next few lines)

 

 

I don't know if UK Spam is the same as US Spam... but I do like it occasional. On a regular basis, no thanks, most definitely cant be healthy. 

I like SPAM, although I have not eaten any for over a year.

Seeing all the recent SPAM commercials in the US over the past couple of years, my wife and I decided to give it a try again.  We fried some up for breakfast, still terrible!  As the commercial says, "Don't knock it til you fry it," well I'm knocking it.  Yuck!

Made for a great Monty Python skit though.

Hawaiians love it!  They can have it!

I like SPAM and have a half dozen cans in my pantry.  I like to fry it, dice it and put it in pot of Ramen noodles or mixed in with scrambled eggs.  I like it sandwiched between a couple of English muffins.  Spam is a lot better than what they serve in dining room here sometimes.

I can't find the half size cans in our grocery stores so I order a half dozen cans at a time from Amazon.

This guy knows how to Spam. I'd also say I love a good Spam Musubi or as an ingredient in a good Hot Pot. Plenty of ways to turn Spam into fine dining 😄

I don't what food is good for longevity or not.  I just know I like spam.  I hate liver but wouldn't criticize those who don't.  I don't much like any kind of Mexican food...tacos, enchiladas and the like.

I was raised in San Francisco and my Dad had a printed shop that printed menus for some of the finer French and Italian restaurants in North Beach as well as seafood restaurants at Fisherman's Wharf.  We would eat at a one or more a couple times a month.  I learned to love escargot, shrimp scampi, steamed clams and crab legs.  But those tastes don't take away from the fact that I also like Spam.

We each have our own likes and dislikes.  In the favorite albums topic I posted a couple of classical albums I like.  I was not criticizing or denigrating rock and roll or rap or any type of music anyone else prefers.  To each his own.

Now I'm a bit curious. My mom actually really liked fried spam, but again, I only ate it cause I was a kid and ate everything.

This video makes me interested in maybe trying some of the flavors that have evolved from the original product, and using it as a guide, I will apply my "one new thing every day" rule and try  a few of these folks recommendations.

I'll hope curiosity doesn't really kill any cats......

I like Spam cold with mustard, never liked it fried.

As far as Vienna sausages, the ones we have in abundance made by Libbys, Armour, Bryan. etc. are made with a blend of chicken, pork, and beef, so not true Vienna sausages.  You can get something closer to the real thing at Walmart made from solely pork - they're called Mini Sausages and come in a can.
