MS Servers Yet Again

Featured Replies

Unable to log you into Xbox Live this afternoon at 1.10 PM GMT.  This is getting so regular, one wonders what MS are up to and why it seems to take so long to resolve issues.  Do they not have any backup plans or ability to sort these issues?

UPDATE 0835 UTC: We are aware of players still reporting issues being able to launch MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. This is still being investigated, and we will provide further information as it is available to us.

UPDATE 0020 UTC: The authentication issue should now be resolved. If you are still experiencing problems launching MSFS (2020) or MSFS 2024, please let us know in a forum thread so we can continue investigating.

//////////////////////

We are monitoring scattered reports of some players not being able to launch MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 and getting the following error message after the splash screen with the company logos.

We have escalated this issue internally and will provide further information when it is available. Based on our own internal testing, it appears inconsistent, with some of our team members getting the error and others being able to launch the sim normally without issue.

We apologize to anyone experiencing this error and thank you for your patience as we work to resolve it.

This is no BS:  I fly nearly every day and have for 5 years now and have not been able to log in maybe TWICE.   Maybe where you are it's 'so regular' but not here never has been.

If you've ever used MS software before you know they are very poor at programming.

Ironically my "guess" would be this is probably something with the load balancing hitting a single shard having issues randomly.  While they are responsible for the shard the LB's "should" prevent this.

I also had no issues with 2020, right in and doing SBGR-LEBL as we speak.

CyberThreat attack map anyone?

Why?  Every Azure service is up globally.  It's not anything with cloud provider or cloud provider services being impacted.  They even said it's an auth service on their end. There is no cyberattack on MSFS going on...

One ruzzian from Fancy Bear was arrested in Thailand yesterday. ☝🏻

Just a week ago I had a "CHECKING FOR UPDATES" (MSFS2020) screen appearing for more than 5 minutes until it finally allowed me to get in.

Cheers, Ed

I'm checking that since yesterday on 2024 the default live weather does not work while it works well with HIFI ASFS and the textures, especially the low-altitude trees, are displayed at low resolution while all the pay scenarios are displayed correctly.

That's quite a statement. I'm sure that with your extensive knowledge in C++, HTML and CSS you probably would do a better job, right?

And here I sit in my virtual cockpit, knowing that I'll never be able to start ms2024 without a 25' ethernet plugged into my router/modem in my living room. Stranger still is that until I installed 2024, I never had connection issues with 2020. But alas both sims now require the blue leash. Asobo tells me I lack the bandwidth yet my specs have never prevented me from running other similarly complex apps. So, it's my fault...yes I'm sure that's the answer

Absolutely. 30 years of experience. The code they write was always full of security vulnerabilities, the UI's were terrible (see teams today, Skype before), and generally they employ way too many junior developers. In my opinion of course!

I sell wireless and run a 30' Cat6 cable to my sim machine still 🙂

Not saying wireless isn't adequate but I have 70 other devices competing for wifi including all of the TV's streaming so I prefer a direct connect without competing for a shared medium (airspace)

What BW do you have that they are saying inadequate?
