December 5, 2025Dec 5 There were more abusive wifes way back then. Meaning, men received regular beat downs. They probably deserved it though.😉 Edited December 5, 2025Dec 5 by tdflightsim Tom MAKA = Make America Kind Again

December 11, 2025Dec 11 First of all, a mustache/beard makes a man look older, especially a young man, so those pictures of bearded/mustached men looking older can be dismissed. I had a friend with a mustache in high school who at 17 easily passed for mid-20s, so he got away with buying beer and cigarettes whereas I couldn't. I've noticed that most Millennial men nowadays sport beards, and I wonder if they do this because it makes them look older or perhaps more "manly". Another issue, especially with celebrities, is the prevalence of "plastic" surgery nowadays. There are a myriad of procedures and treatments that most celebrities avail themselves of which make them look younger. 50 years ago these treatments either weren't available or many men had no desire to use them. Then there's the makeup and lighting utilized to make them appear more youthful when you see them in movies or on TV. It is true that less smoking and drinking can contribute to living longer and looking younger, but it also greatly depends on the individual. We had a neighbor who smoked her entire life, 2 packs a day, and lived pretty well and looked pretty good, and she lived to be 87. My grandad smoked 3 packs a day until his mid-40s and quit due to a heart attack. He went on to live until 80 and only died because of colon cancer, not lung cancer. A lot of this comes down to winning the genetic lottery. December 11, 2025Dec 11 I watched a different video on the same subject. I got the impression that the difference was smoking and sun exposure. Of course, there were a lot less preservatives in the food in those days. 😄 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

December 12, 2025Dec 12 In the retirement community in which I live our ages range from 70 to 100+. We have two women who are 101 and 102 respectively. One looks 100 and the other looks about 75. Among the rest of us there is no discernible 'look' to guess someone's age. We are all old, but some look old and others do not. I'll be 93 in a couple of weeks but according to others here I look like I'm in my 70s. We have a couple here who are both 96. The husband looks about 80 while his wife looks over 100. I have no idea why some of us look older than we are or younger than we are. Maybe it's lifestyle. Maybe it's genetic. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
