MSFS 2024 Sim Update 4 Release Notes Updated

On a very positive note, I seem to have gained enough performance to start using Samscenes USA Modern Cities addons again - I had previously disabled them because they resulted in a fair bit of stuttering.

  • The thing I'm most excited about? Hearing from all the people who stayed in SU3 and who will experience SU4 for the first time.. I wish I had stayed out just to be totally amazed 🙂

  • WOW. Playing Geforce Now and am very close to the server so the performance has always been good - but man, with this upgrade my fps is significantly higher at ultra settings. Double in places.

  • Huge performance gains for me too. They really have worked some magic with this update!

I didn't do any benchmarking or anything, but just taking a helicopter over inibuilds LAX with traffic and the performance improvements were very noticeable.  It is very impressive.

Not that difficult to check and reproduce.

The new vPilot beta fixes this.

Yeah, I've just flown out of LAX myself and had a very smooth experience.  Before SU4 I tended to avoid it due to it being a bit of a stutterfest.

Ok that's probably the very best news around these days for me, personally.
I've had great performance with SU3 already and was fully happy with MSFS2024 and this missing landing gear bug was the only thing bothering me a lot.

Happy that many others consider upgrading to MSFS2024 now as it further encourages developers to focus on my current sim and not wasting time on the 2020 version.

Edit: typo

I'm assuming that is useless for those of us who don't use Vatsim?

If you don't use Vatsim, the problem mostly goes away if you stop using AIG models and use Justflight FS Traffic models, or native MSFS 2024 models. It's really only with AIG planes that you see it a lot - not all the time, but a lot more than FsTraffic models.

I tried using Justflight last night and the same problem.  (Having uninstalled FSLTL)

I don't want to just use MSFS native as there are so few liveries available.

I disagree. This does not only happen with AIG models but also with FSLTL models equally often.

Agreed - I forget that Fsltl models are a thing. Still, like I said, use FSTraffic models and native models and you will see this problem largely vanish.

Hmm well I guess no choice but to wait while it gets fixed then. While for me the issue is largely fine when I use FSTraffic, I understand that different people have different sensitivities to this issue.

Fenix and PMDG fly fine, but updating the PMDG navdata via the EFB is broken, you'll have to do it via navigraph hub

No.

You just have to delete the folder in the PMDG installation and start up the sim and redownload through the EFB.

Try tweaking the following ( all under Graphics)

1. Airport Services

2. Characters quantity.

you can set to low or off and see

Not sure what version you are looking at, but in SU4 this does not exist, I've looked everywhere...  😞

I've been trying to get a screenshot into this but its failing, my Settings-> General->Graphics looks nothing like this 😞 I'm confused, do you perhaps have GSX installed or something??
