What does this mean and what do I need to do before updating to SU4? I'm playing on a PC.

"If you are playing on PC, outdated packages in your community folder may have an unexpected impact on the title’s performance and behavior.

If you suffer from stability issues or long loading times, move your community package(s) to another folder before relaunching the title"

Yeah, don't worry about it. They always put this before every update and it's mostly just to cover themselves. I've never bothered and it's always been fine.

This update was worth waiting for IMO. The optimisations are very evident even just flying a few approaches to Heathrow in the Fenix A320. It's butter smooth now.

  • The thing I'm most excited about? Hearing from all the people who stayed in SU3 and who will experience SU4 for the first time.. I wish I had stayed out just to be totally amazed 🙂

  • WOW. Playing Geforce Now and am very close to the server so the performance has always been good - but man, with this upgrade my fps is significantly higher at ultra settings. Double in places.

  • Huge performance gains for me too. They really have worked some magic with this update!

Would be nice if this were true, but I tried starting my Bonanza at KHIO, and I still have this moronic NPCs walking into my prop and such, would it really be that hard to turn this word not allowed OFF, small airports don't have a bunch of hard-hatted morons wandering around, i mean offensive initials not allowed 😞

Try tweaking the following ( all under Graphics)

1. Airport Services

2. Characters quantity.

you can set to low or off and see

Still don't understand why they are unable to reproduce:

1.) start sim
2.) connect to VATSIM
3.) wait until arriving traffic parks at your airport.

Every. Single. Time.
I can do it 100x and this bug is present 100 times.

Yip but then they'd have to acknowledge it , and then ultimately spend the man hours on fixing it.  Neither I imagine they want to do.

I just saw a post on the front page that said vPilot has released an update that fixes LODs.. Is that what you were referring to? The vPilot issue? and is it fixed now with the new update?

9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

Took me minutes to scroll that on my phone. It's like a new game! I've stayed on SU3 all along so excited to try it out.

Because it hasn’t been fixed. They (Asobo) were unable to reproduce it if I remember.

Not that difficult to check and reproduce.

I get a flickering mess with SU4 and I wonder why. Locked FPS to 36, flickering in the menues etc. When the sim is loaded and framegen kicks in, the flickering is reduced but still visible. Someone else having this?

Edit: restarting the sim and replacing the DLSS files with the newest ones resolved it. Strange...

New issue: my rig is connected via LAN. the moment I click on fly now, the whole rig loses the connection. It is instantly restored, but the connection loss is long enough that the «no connection» screen pops up. Oh boy, a SU without issues would be a dream...

Aaaaand, surprise: not a single FPS more than with SU3 e.g. in the ini A350. Why am I not surprised that those miracolous claims are again snake oil? Should have known it better...

Sir,

the overwhelming majority of players does neither report any of your problems nor do they bit** about framerates not improving.
Maybe you better start searching for an error (probably more than one) on your side instead of blaming Asobo/Microsoft all the time. At least you could blame Inibuilds.
Did you never wonder why your state-of-the-art machine seems to have problems running FS2024 properly when literally all others with comparable or much slower hardware report the contrary?

Edit:
Some experiences with the A350:

Jumping to conclusion doesnt make it better, SIR. I no words I said that I have performance issues, all I am saying that I do not see those miracolous FPS increase reported by many.

Positive observation: the shadow bug in external view (not the drone view) is fixed. Finally.
