January 10Jan 10 Long time user of TAA. Tried DLSS 4.5 on my 4090 today using DLSS-DLAA with the updated NVIDIA drivers. Saw a little ghosting on the speed tape on decel upon landing but other than that, it is far better. I don't miss the distant jaggies of TAA so finally after all these years, going to stick with DLSS-DLAA. Image is so much better. Eric
January 10Jan 10 How is it that some people using 4.5 with prest M and the speed tape on take off is ghosting and some videos i have seen the speed tape clear in the pmdg 737 On the islandsim video. Is that due to the monitor reso? Thanks Mike
January 10Jan 10 ISP video: he shows how to check a box in dlss swapper to display the dlls and preset version in the sim itself. Maybe some people aren't using what they think they are. I know I have to take a screenshot and enlarge it, in order to read the info text at bottom of screen. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. January 10Jan 10 Retesting at night, when the lighting is bad, VR gave the same result as in 2D: 4.5 + M is way more stable and consistent fps. No stutters on approach and landings. With VR, lighting is important to keep the tracking stable. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. January 10Jan 10 For me DLSS 4.5 is working fine. I've been using the Nvidia app ever since DLSS 4 was officially released when the RTX50xx cards hit the market, employing the various overrides in the app, no swapper, no NVCP. With the 591.74 driver, DLSS Performance, preset M I'm getting great results with just a tiny bit of ghosting on the Fenix V/S tape when rates are above 2800'/min. I used DLSS/DLAA previously, but I'll stick with my new settings. TBH, 4 with preset K and framegen is already pretty much perfect in pancake mode so not feeling like I'm missing out on too much more. On a side note, I started a new playthrough of Cyberpunk for the first time in 4 / preset K, and whoa, that game looks stunning now and runs like a dream. Path tracing / ray reconstruction at a steady 80FPS with a 5-yr old rig? A fitting swan song before we all submit to the hell of subscription GPUs. The 3090 still performs great in FS - regarding DLSS 4.5, I’d probably stay away from it - early indications are showing a sizeable drop off in performance. January 10Jan 10 After experimenting with all the new stuff, new driver, new dlss files, new profiles, framegen multipliers, dlss settings, etc. I've just gone back to DLAA, profile K with 2XFG and 310.3 DLSS files and all is super smooth, crisp and silky on my test flight from Newark to Laguardia with Samscene 1.5 this morning (60 FPS all the way), so I think I'm going to be sticking with that (system specs in my signature). I have kept the new driver though (per Turbomax's comment). I have pretty much everything on ultra settings in msfs2024. Those using DLSS rather than DLAA may have better outcomes. I think the community is too worried now that we know about it, many judge DLSS 4.5 mainly on the speed tape blurries above v/s of 2.800. such high v/s situations are rare in my mostly GA flying and don't outweigh the other DLSS 4.5 benefits. I can now reduce DLSS setting in MSFS from quality a notch down to balanced and still don't observe graphics quality degradations. considering BALANCED cuts the game's original resolution nearly in half, down to 56% I am impressed what DLSS 4.5 has achieved. Now I am using the latest app beta 1.1.06.374 with all kinds of ALT-R statistics, which they will officially launch only next week, and now we can finally make all those settings without registry etc. AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler. 60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking. very nice.

Today flying the iniBuilds A350, the altitude tape starts ghosting around 2500fpm. Is it the best? No, but the overall picture quality and lack of jagged lines in the distance make this very much doable. 4.5 IMO is a game changer for me at least. I can put up with just a touch of ghosting mentioned above for much better results vs. TAA. Also with 4.5, the night lights are just as bright and crisp as TAA now which was another drawback of the older DLSS versions. By the way, I am using DLSS-DLAA mode so no downscaling and upscaling and I’m on a 4k TV. Eric
