It's part of Nvidia's DLSS 4.5 they just released at CES. Two new presets (L, M) Both hit performance quite hard on 4xxx series and below compared to Preset K (DLSS 4). Preset M is meant to

I am in VR (Varjo Aero) and the new DLSS 4.5 with preset L nearly completely eliminates ghosting of the speed and altitude tape of an airliner PFD as compared to DLSS 4.0 with preset K. That's with NV

not sure it does anything for MSFS 2024 over previous version:

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

With my system and msfs2020, dlss files newer than 310.4 and Nvidia drivers newer than 572.60 caused constant crashes. I thought I'd share my experience here.

Oh well. Ghosting doesn't affect me since I have smaller monitors that I pop out displays to to mimic the cockpit layout.

I use preset L and swapped to 310.5.3 via DLSS Swapper but in-sim still shows "DLSS v310.5.2(nvapp_override)", anyone else?

DLAA, 2X FRG and profile K still works best for me, whatever driver and DLSS files I have installed.

'M' has been the best for me to date.

DLSS is now 310.5.3 but in DLSS Swapper DLSS Frame Generation is still 310.5.2?

yes, that is the version number of the underlying DLL which handles just the FrameGeneration sub-component, whereas the 310.5.3 DLL handles the SuperResolution image resizing/interpolation part. they are 2 independent components.

I know they are. I'm just commenting that it hasn't been updated yet.

I wonder if anyone  ever recognizes any difference between the original frame generation file of MSFS2024 or the newer ones.

Yup, I've noticed improvements with some of them, most noticeably 310.5 which made a big and very welcome difference.

The newest one gives not only a much improved quality than before, it also performs, way better.

I definitely notice.  DLSS before 4.5 woud leave any digital display fuzzy and I would get obvious ghosting.  I don't mean minor either, but to the point where I couldn't use it.  Now?  DLSS runs great but also I can't see any of these issues anymore.  It is a huge difference.

He was asking for the DLL specifically for FRAME GENERATION, not for the DLSS function.
