January 26Jan 26 Back to it's getting cold. In south New Jersey/Philadelphia area we got about 6" of snow with a 2" crust of frozen snow and ice. It SUCKS! I walked about 100 ft to our shed and back and was exhausted. The dogs have it worse. I have to go out back and clear an area for them to do their business. I HATE WINTER!!!🤬 Tom MAKA = Make America Kind Again

Here's the link to ISO New England Power's website which clearly shows the percentages of production sources: https://www.iso-ne.com/ Right now oil is down to 36% but was as high as 39%. Martin, instead of using AI to do your "research" for you, you should spend some time actually researching things yourself and getting your facts straight before posting. January 26Jan 26 We got our 7 inches of snow and when I awakened this morning our outdoor temp was 2 degreesF. It's up to 16 now. By the middle of the week we will be approaching normal. Our snow doesn't usually melt. It sublimates in low humidities so we don't get much melting and slush. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

I must be reading your linked Web page wrong then because it doesn't. Mind you, I am in one of my insomnia cycles, now beyond irritability, beyond the aggression phase and well into the bonkers phase. 😁 By the way, do you know how Google AI works? Does the same research I would do but more in depth and faster. Which is useful when I dont care either way. 🤣 What was the point of your post, anyway, the one I expertly fact checked, are you campaigning for a higher percentage of renewables? Im with you brother. 😂 Anyway.... STEP AWAY FROM YOUR KEYBOARD! We are in LEVEL ONE transgression territory. Edited January 26Jan 26 by martin-w

Please, no more posts about electricity generation, even if someone else posts something you think is wrong. You want to continue this discussion, start a new thread. Thanks. I started this thread to monitor what was going on in what looked to be a severe weather forecast. It wasn't as severe as I was expecting here, and I'm interested in what other people experienced. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be in middle TN either. We had mostly snow Saturday with several hours of freezing rain as temps ironically increased later in the day and overnight, then a lot of rain Sunday and a bit more snow later when temps dropped. Areas west and south of us got more of the freezing rain and had more power outages; we never lost power, thank goodness. We're going to get a kerosene heater just in case this kind of weather happens again, so at least we won't freeze to death if we lose power. Might get a small generator, too. January 26Jan 26 To return to the weather around the world ... Currently 4°C (39°F) in Surrey, BC, Canada which is just south of Vancouver. It's supposed to start raining tonight and continue to the end of the week, with temperatures increasing to as high as 10°C (50°F) by the end of the week. The rest of Canada is getting hit pretty hard, I understand. Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)
January 27Jan 27 Eight inches of snow and 6 degrees F yesterday. Warmed up to 25 degrees today. Got to use the snow blower I bought last year. Found ice under the snow. Edited January 27Jan 27 by Penzoil3

January 28Jan 28 Author It's 46 degrees out there right now. After the last few days it feels like mid-Summer. There is a bit over 3 inches of water in the rain gauge. I don't know if it ever actually got below 10 degrees. I saw as low as 11 once. We never got any actual snow. Just ice, freezing rain. We only lost power once, while we were asleep. I know because the microwave clock read 00:00 and my computer UPS reset. I don't know what it was actually like out on the roads. I never left the house. Not like that is unusual. I had two doctor visits by phone Monday. A week earlier I missed a doctor appointment... because he died the previous day! I hate it when that happens. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! February 2Feb 2 Author It's 63 degrees. Still ice on the ground where the trees shade it, but not for long in these temperatures. The 3.5" of water/ice in the rain gauge broke the glass cylinder. Can't find the replacement cylinder that came with the gauge so I ordered a new one. About $13, I can live with that. I'll remember where I put the replacement this time. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! February 3Feb 3 In the land of Jersey that the American Jersey was named after... quite mild. 9C. Think thats about 48 Fahrenheit. Cat is sitting in the doorway, door open. No heating on, might put it in later. Very rainy, though..
February 4Feb 4 Author Current temperature at 5:30 pm is 51. Ice is down to a couple of square feet in the shaded areas. This coulda been lots worse. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Some pretty ritzy homes that I saw for sale. It finally warmed up to 0°c today. Edited February 5Feb 5 by tdflightsim Tom MAKA = Make America Kind Again
