February 7Feb 7 I think this winter has been the longest 5 years of my life. 😁 It seems like it has lasted that long and it's not over! More snow yesterday evening, today it will be very cold with temperatures remaining relatively steady in the mid-20's (Fahrenheit) and winds gusting to 40 mph. 😲 My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

I woke up to 5°f/-15°c and 20 mph winds. The wind chill factor is "Oh H_ell no I"m not going outside!" Yesterday was 14°f/-10°c with 50 mph wind gust. Luckily I stocked the house with firewood the day before. I'm really sick of this winter🤬 Edited February 8Feb 8 by tdflightsim Tom MAKA = Make America Kind Again

Other places especially around the SW have really been hit hard. It got to 10.9°C here today. That’s 52°F. Not had a frost since mid January. But the lack of sunshine is the downside. 3 weeks to meteorological spring. 😁 Ray (Cheshire, England). Ignore the elephants, giraffes and hippos. Fill the ark with blondes, brunettes and redheads, plus whatever else strikes your fancy. Dogs and cats, of course. Other pets as desired. Enough food animals for breeding stock. Lots of seeds to grow food and flowers. Include horses and other work animals as desired. Useful insects like bees and certain beetles. This is your chance to eliminate cockroaches. You get to decide what books to take. Maybe some musical instruments. I suggest a wide variety of tools to last until we can make our own. With some care, we should be able to rebuild civilization. 🙂 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

What about a brand new realistic flight simulator that runs entirely on an SSD on your own computer and doesn't cost an arm and a leg and has a vast selection of aircraft and airports (including a Concorde and EGCC for Ray)? I already mentioned eliminating cockroaches. 😄 The good thing about building your own ark (whether it's a boat, a space ship, a bunker or a refuge far from civilization) is that you get to select what to take and what to leave behind. Anyone wanting a different mix is welcome to build their own ark. 🙂 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
