I'm a long standing member here.  This needs to be said.  Ray, you're one of the mods who has held a bias against MSFS (2020 and 24) for quite some time.  I really wish we had some mods who are in sup

I couldn't disagree any further here, with all due respect most naval or miliary aviators are not the best judge of GA, airliners or corporate bizjets. I have been flying the ga and the bizjets now fo

I would just like to see fair moderation when it comes to these type of topics.

The airplanes fly like (enter bad word here) and the systems suck.  All of them including Black Square, A2A, FLYSIMWARE, and Blackbird.

The way you describe your views is pretty dramatic. I'm glad I don't feel the same as you. Being a real world pilot myself (but only light aircraft and not as many years experience as you) I couldn't disagree more with everything you find 'unacceptable'. Actually I find your snobby remarks pretty condescending towards very renowned developers, who all have worked hard to create realistic aircraft. MSFS isn't perfect, but it's far from the horror you describe.

MSFS is a child's toy to be played on XBox by kids that should be doing their homework.  It is an intro to pretty graphics and has nothing to do with flying actual airplanes.  It does not cater to us

Oh dear, another one of those smug and superior opinions. I really don't get them. Please don't talk about 'us'. I definitely do not see things as negatively as you do, like many other 'serious' simmers in these forums.

I went and looked a XPlane12 briefly.  It looks like a comic book

It seems you forgot what P3D looks like, lol. But to each their own. I suggest you be like moderator Ray and start playing that abandoned sim again.

All that really matters here are the facts and numbers.  Consider those and then why we all have to call MSFS2024 the GOAT of flight simming.

Just 1 metric,  DLC sales is probably 100x the nearest contender.

Sounds like a GOAT to me.

Why does it bother you what sim I fly? I couldn’t care less what sim people fly. The only reason I got involved in this topic was to issue a warning and holiday to a member who was grossly insulting towards another member.

Neither do I Ray, please don't take my remark the wrong way. It's just that the OP expressed his preference for P3D, like you also do in some occasions.

Hi,

I beg to differ! I run X-Plane 12 with the zibo mod in a six figure 737 dual trainer, the 738 mod performs very close to the multi million dollar simulators I've had the privilege to use over the years. Although the last couple of update from Zibo (17, 18) have lost some of that heavy feel. I've since replaced a couple of airfoil files to return the mod back to that heavy feel.

The eye candy may not be there in XP12, but it is a far better "Flight Simulator" than MSFS2024 could ever hope to be! If you want eye candy, 2024 is your sim, want better flight dynamics X-Plane should be your sim of choice.

I'm very happy with my version of MSFS 2020 and I know that one day v. 2024 will be just as good.

But, what do I know about flight simming? I'm just a gamer.

Funny, somehow we enter a sim vs sim discussion again, lol. How on earth is that possible?? For the record, I disagree. Strongly 😊
