GSX Pro introduces instabilities with MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

I am using SU4 (not the beta) and it has been rock solid since release. I decided to buy GSX Pro, and I really like the immersion benefits it provides. Unfortunately, it just introduces instabilities into MSFS 2024. For example, the Fenix EFB would not load half the time, the white menu at the top disappeared a couple of times, and other strange behaviors. Anyone else seeing these issues with GSX Pro and MSFS 2024?

Havn't seen those issues

Why don't you try posting your issues on their support forum?

GSX cannot possibly affect the Fenix EFB, they are completely separate systems, and the communication exchange happens mostly by LVars (zero direct access between the two), with GSX being controlled by Fenix, not vice-versa.

There isn't a single function in the whole GSX that ever changes the *state* of the airplane (any airplane), except for the brief moment during pushback, where the airplane is moved by GSX, and the only thing that is being changed is the airplane position using a standard and 100% safe Simconnect call, no other systems or variables in the airplane are touched by GSX, when you call refueling, the airplane is refueling itself: the GSX fuel truck it's just there for show to display various animations for the duration of the process (it's not actually filling anything), when you load pax/cargo, the airplane is changing its payload by itself, GSX is there just to show pax/cargo animations, but it won't alter the payload either.

In brief, with an airplane deeply integrated with GSX like the Fenix, none of the things "happening" on the airplane are done by GSX, they are done by the airplane own automation code, that reacts to GSX events, and changes its status (fuel, payload, etct) exactly in the same way as if you were doing it manually from the EFB.

GSX doesn't cause any instability for me. It does cause me to curse and shout when the dispatcher walks in front of my plane after pushback.

There are some learning curve issues you will become aware of over time but generally it's very stable and reliable now, more so than a year ago for me, for certain.  It even integrates well with Self Loading Cargo.

Thanks guys. I was hoping there was something else at play here, so I will reinstall GSX and see how it goes. I do like what it adds, so for me it is worth another shot.

the issue you had with the efb  and other issues with the 320 not loading is probably due to the fenix app not loading correctly, try running the app as admin see if  the issues persist

Only new thing I've experienced in retail is that i keep getting "Bad Jetway Data" with the A350

Speaking of the A350, how do you handle fuel? Do I just put the exact fuel i want into Simbrief, then just import it into the Loadsheet, and then let GSX handle it? So don’t use the Fuel option from the OIS/EFB?

Hello

I load fuel exactly as you described. I go into he loadsheet, import Simbrief then call GSX. When GSK shows, I choose the option that is from the Simbrief flight plan (the last refuel option) and its good to go from there. I like the GSX immersion slightly better then the OIS/EFB.

Just to add to this:

A Loadsheet only contains the exact amount of fuel you need to get to the runway and take off legally without any margins.

As soon as anything takes longer, APU running longer, taxi taking longer, you will risk arriving at the runway with less than legal fuel.

So to properly simlate fuel loading you should always add more fuel than the loadsheet has calculated.

That's whay simply taking the simbrief fuel and not changing the value to about half a ton more, is not realistic.
