A2A Roadmap

Featured Replies

I'd take the C172, but only if it comes with tundra/bush and float versions (and without glass cockpit of course).

The Aerostar, I couldn't care less.

I'm not surprised by the absence of warbirds. A2A doesn't care about these anymore.

I'm pretty sure it's not an April fools or I wouldn't have posted it. I mean, there is nothing funny about it. I wish they were doing the 182 before the 172 but still all looks pretty good.

PLEASE let the turbocharged Aerostar be real! It's so much faster than the original na version...  plus boots for flight into known icing 🙂 I would have been flying it more often but in my p

Oh, come ON, guys!

here’s the last sentence of their Reddit post:

”We’ll let this one speak for itself on April 1st morning.”

Here’s my response to them:

Well, I do indeed assume this is an April fools joke because you guys have been on a roll with exciting aircraft, and this is anything but…

And while it probably makes sense to get an AccuSim Cessna or Piper out there for the folks in training or wannabe training, the lineup and pacing of this roadmap just don’t make sense. (And to be clear, I’d love a Cherokee Redux as that’s what I learned to fly).

It seems like you’d continue to work in some variety with spicy aircraft like the AeroStar and Lancair, e.g., the Civ Mustang, the T-6, or similar (those 2 would be my personal picks).

Anyhow, I do appreciate a good April Fools joke, but TBH this isn’t a GOOD one.

And the first sentence on the Discord announcement: "April 1st - New month felt like a good time to share where things are heading."

They also specifically referenced "April 1st" in the forum post title.

Sorry, but color me skeptical.  Might it be true?  Sure, but considering the day and the multiple references to that day in each venue...

Besides - I don't want it to be true as there's no reference to bringing the V35B over and I know there are many who feel the same way about the Civilian Mustang.  So there!  😄

I do miss that one from P3D! (But not as much as the Civ Mustang 😎)

I wonder if the presence of the Black Square Bonanza might have affected the pipeline for A2A’s version?

I suppose there’s room for both in the market, but one never knows, and it’s a further argument for why it should’ve released right after the Comanche.

It’s not like anyone else was gonna bust out an Aerostar any time soon…

I’m not complaining, per se, especially with the Lancair next in line 😁.
But other than the Comanche, the order of addon releases isn’t what one would expect from a developer with so much great work already in the bank. They’ve ceded a tremendous amount of market share to others already.

What I’m REALLY hoping is that this is a joke and that they’ll be announcing something REALLY cool in the next few days/weeks.🙏

eta: im still holding out hope in re their previous statement about eventually bringing all their ESP addons over.

Id also wish for that turbine T-6 Texan II, and even that old German Uhu night fighter. 😎

We're now a day past, I'm thinking this is real.  Maybe that was the prank, posting something real.  I'd love to see the 172.  I know it is "boring" but just so iconic.

We’ve been reading through all the reactions and questions following the roadmap and yes, it is real. It reflects where things are heading right now, though as always, plans can evolve as development progresses.

For those who prefer it in text form, here is the current roadmap:

2026 Q2
• Accu-Sim Legacy RG550

2026 Q4
• Accu-Sim C172

2026 (Timing TBC)
• Accu-Sim Aerostar Turbo (under feasibility review)

2027
• Accu-Sim Cherokee
• Accu-Sim C182

It’s worth noting that this roadmap focuses on new projects. Alongside this, we will continue to develop and improve our existing aircraft with ongoing updates — including plans such as ground-up G5 retrofits for the Accu-Sim Comanche 250 and Aerostar 600, as well as other improvements currently in development.

A few of the common questions we’ve seen across the socials:

Is this for real?
Yes, this is our current roadmap.

Why no warbirds?
Historically, both in the FS2004 and FSX days and now in MSFS, warbirds and classics tend to be more niche compared to the aircraft most people fly day to day. Our approach is to build a strong foundation with these aircraft first. Each project helps fund the next, and that foundation is what allows us to take on more specialised aircraft like Mustangs, Spitfires, or classic airliners later on.

That said, there is always a chance something more retro or unexpected could appear along the way. This roadmap is subject to change.

Another Aerostar?
Yes, we’re exploring a new standalone variant. The current Accu-Sim Aerostar 600, much like our Accu-Sim Comanche 250, champions realistic GA flying for the majority in real life. This new version would go in a different direction, bringing more of the modern systems and bells and whistles that many flight simmers are used to seeing in the simulated skies.

Why not [insert aircraft]?
Everyone has their favourite aircraft, and we completely understand that. This roadmap is about building a solid foundation that will allow us to expand into a wider variety of aircraft in the future. Once that foundation is in place, it opens the door to more variety and potentially some more unexpected choices along the way.

Every purchase helps fund what comes next, and we truly appreciate the continued support that makes all of this possible.

We’ll share more details as each project develops.

Well, I'm man enough to admit I was wrong. But, YIKES - how utterly BOOOORRRRING after the Aerostar and Lancair!

'Boring' is very subjective 😉

When we consider how realistically A2A model their aircraft, they're very well suited to training and common-or-garden GA aircraft, that many simmers may have real hours in.  I won't do one of my polls ( 😄 ) but I'd guess the amount of people that would want something like a C182 would be exponentially higher than those that would want a war bird.  (The latter being pretty much the only class of aircraft addon that I have zero interest in and would never buy - even in A2A form). Of course I'm only one person and I'm not intending to speak for others.   Just an estimation that A2A would sell a lot more common GA aircraft than war birds.  If I were A2A as a business, I know which type I'd be developing!

Wow, the A2A Cessna 172 is really coming to MSFS! This is something I am interested in if the price is right.

They’re really consistent in their pricing, so it’s very likely to be $50 like it always was/is in P3D.

The only one I’ve seen them give a lower standard price was/is the Piper Cub.

100 pct agreed on all.

EXCEPT the warbird part. That Civilian Mustang of theirs is really something else! Talk about LARPing as Tom Cruise 😎👍

ETA: the Civ Mustang is literally the only reason I still have P3D installed!

You're not wrong.  If I was training in a 172 in today's world I would absolutely be all over an A2A 172.  From a personal perspective - having done all the time I EVER want to do in various 172 models IRL and then moved on - I'm disappointed it wasn't all a good laugh, but no, not really surprised at the direction.

And to back that contention, A2A has the numbers from their previous efforts in FSX/P3D.  They know what sold to a MS sim focused audience, so yes, I'm sure they know EXACTLY what they're doing.  Doesn't mean I won't shed a tear for the V35B I now know I'm never gonna see again.

Sigh.

Just wanted to point out in case you weren't aware: there's currently a very, very good J-3 available, the CAS Cub.  I haven't used the A2A version since FSX days but from what I remember, the CAS Cub is right up there with the A2A version.
