I am slightly worried about the comments regarding VRAM messages. I do not have much to spare on my RTX 4070 Super.

I’ve got a 4070 12GB and got hit with them multiple times yesterday.
Disappointing because I haven’t seen these in quite a long time while flying a great variety of addons.
And yeah, I lowered the graphics settings to accommodate, mainly because I just wanted to fly the thing again!

I’ll go back in and tweak them back up to a good balance point.

I barely flew the 2020 version so to me this 2024 version looks really nice! I like my cockpits looking new especially since I'm flying the BBJ variety

Hallelujah! A new video short just dropped: Looks like mostly cuts from the longer video released a couple days ago.

  • So.... I've had my first check out of the new -700.  She's a beauty for sure.  I paid £23 upgrade price, as I owned the -700 for 2020.   For that price, I'm happy with it.  The new textures are nice b

So can someone explain to me why the -700 is more than double the price of the -600?
I guess I'm asking if there's really something more I'm receiving to explain the extra cost, or is it mostly based on popularity of the variant?

I haven't purchased a PMDG aircraft in maybe 10 years or more... am considering it again now.

Totally a factor of addon popularity, which is driven by IRL popularity.

The 737 piloting experience is literally the same, so there’s absolutely no NEED to get the more expensive variants.

You may WANT to get them if cargo or biz jet ops are your thing, but really those are just window dressing if FLIGHT sim is your primary objective 😎👍

oh, ok I understand... too bad they don't allow you to purchase just the single model of choice that you'd want (like just the BBJ or just the cargo variant, etc).

Thanks for the info.

Still a MUCH better pricing matrix than they did in Prepar3D, as well as almost all the other addon devs out there.

Which is the most VRAM hog now, new 737-700 or FSL Bus NEO?

You need to go into the settings in the FMC, and switch Control input cancels AP (or something similar) to OFF.

I bet that's why you never had these issues in the -800; because that setting is probably already off.

The setting is to allow you to disengage the AP, with a yoke input - but it's too sensitive and leads to these uncommanded AP disconnects.

I flew a segment from EDHL to LZIB in the new -700 yesterday, and it was flawless.

I set all the Simulation preferences in the FMC to the same that I use in the -800.

Thanks that was the reason AP kept disengaging. Why would they turn that on by default? Anyway, it's back to normal.

Thanks again.

Presumably because that's what the real airplane does.

The difference of course is that it's much easier to "bump" a flight simulator yoke to the extent that it will cause the autopilot to disconnect, whereas I assume this would require significant force on the real airplane.

The price of Nvidia graphics cards beggars belief. I just checked out the RTX 4080 on the CEX website (so, not even brand new), and the cost is between £800 and £975. Then I decided to have a look at the RTX 4090......

Not much change from £2000.....for any of them on the site

I need to sit down....

Had the same feeling almost a year ago and went for the AMD RX 9070 XT. I have not regretted it. Worth looking at as an alternative.

Well, overall I like it. The sounds seem very nice too, although that's always subjective.

The issues I've had is AP disconnect is very touchy and VRAM messages out the waazoo.

Also, landing at KDFW (iniBuilds) my fps cratered.

I don't know for certain the VRAM is associated with this aircraft, but I think so. Guessing all the cabin detail may be contributing.

Note: my specs in the footer is out of date...I have a RTX5080 since my 3090 blew up.

Did you spot the discussion and solution above on a setting change?

Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset

I have a 5090 but had to RMA my PSU and I'm not taking a chance using the 5090 with my old power supply. I've been using a 5070, so with all of the VRAM issues I guess I will wait until Monday to fly the 737 when I get my PSU back.

It is very sensitive. One of my yoke buttons is a camera button. I press that button softly and the AP disconnects.

i am happy with all 737 in FS2024 and do not need any 747 in the 737 topic.
